Nominations Clarification 3 (+ you STILL need to disambiguate)

Hi what's up! It's Mod 2 and I'm already out of things to approve because yet more undisambiguated noms are in my way, so I'm switching to some quick clarifications!

What is disambiguation, why do we have to do it, can't you just do it for us?

• Disambiguation is when you put "(Fandom)" at the end of your nominations. See in this post for examples.
• You need to disambiguate because A) we said so and B) it keeps horrible things from happening to the tagset and thus to your mods
• When we have to do it for you we're prone to making mistakes! Also it takes a longass time and our time is not limited. People who don't disambiguate make the exchange harder for us, and we hate that! Stop making it less fun! Disambiguate!
• (By the way, you need to disambiguate even if you're using canonical tags. In fact, especially then. All tags must be disambiguated.)

Fandoms that need to disambiguate

• Probably every fandom not crossed out that's listed in this post (same one as linked above) but I can't see all of them still so I won't bother relisting them. Please backread all clarification posts.
• Buffyverse (TV) — Some of these are disambiguated but they're disambiguated wrong, so. Good enough, thanks for trying!
• DC's Arrowverse
• Agatha Christie's Poirot (TV)
• Aladdin (2019) — this was mentioned on the last post but I would like to clarify that you've used canonical tags with "(Disney)" but we need your tags to be specifically disambiguated with "(Aladdin 2019)"
• Ant-Man (Movies)
• Fullmetal Alchemist — All Media Types — Also, you should pick a specific version.
• Les Misérables — All Media Types — Also, you should pick a specific version.
• Madam Secretary
• NOS4A2 (TV 2019) — Also, usually there's spaces around the & in platonic relationships!
• Rosemary and Thyme
• The Magicians (TV)
• The Mechanisms (Band) — also you need to get back to us about other clarification stuff. and there are THREE OF YOU so one of you should be able to disambiguate your many, MANY relationships.
• PROBABLY OTHER FANDOMS but this is as far down as we can currently see. Go check your nominations if you didn't do so last night!

Other problems

• Avatar: the Last Airbender — In case you actually come look at clarifications, we rejected your nominations because we're not allowing bangpaths in our relationship, and furthermore "Platonic!A/B" is NOT how anything works. Read our nomination guidelines and feel free to ask us questions.
• Crossover Fandom: Minn-Erva (Captain Marvel)/Nebula (Avengers) — Thanks for disambiguating! But this should just go under The Avengers.
• Fullmetal Alchemist - All Media Types — Mentioned above, but you need to pick FMA 2003 or Brotherhood/Manga
• Les Misérables - All Media Types — There's a book, a play, a movie, and probably other adaptations I don't remember. Please pick one.
• If you had freeforms rejected — I've rejected about 30 freeforms that were just random stuff like "Crying" and "Hurt/Comfort" and "Time Travel". I like all those things too, but that's not what freeforms are for in this exchange! Freeforms are for medium opt-ins only. Read our nomination guidelines and feel free to ask us questions.
• If your freeforms are lingering, waiting to be approved — Mod 1 handles all the medium opt-in stuff! You can make things go fasting by commenting on this post about what you think the minimum for your medium should be and also by back reading nominations clarification posts to see what we have outstanding questions about.
• Dreaming of Sunshine — Tragically, the tag we told you to use has been synned to Naruto because the world is a cruel, unforgiving place. Please use Dreaming of Sunshine - Silver Queen (disambiguated for exchanges) now. We've updated the nom guidelines to reflect this too!

A note for future nom-approving: I nominated the Star Wars Legends: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords fandom tag and the relationships under it. However, the fandom tag has been synned by AO3 to Star Wars Legends: Knights of the Old Republic (Video Games), which was also nominated and approved, so my follow-up nom of Atris/Female Jedi Exile (KOTOR2) might show up under that fandom tag instead of the intended, correct Star Wars Legends: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords as specified in the disambiguation.

Thank you for the heads up! Keep an eye on the fandom tag as well when you submit; sometimes AO3 will change synned tags into their parent fandom tag so you have to get creative with making sure it doesn't move. If necessary we can change one or both fandom tag afterwards and untangle things, so I'll make a note to double check

I'll get those tags sorted out tomorrow, looks like it ended up a bit of a mess but it's a fixable mess (and thank you for pointing out the dupe)!

Also thank you for pointing out the death note tag. If Solo: Yagami Light isn't already in the tagset I'll change it to that. That's funny and would be great for a flash exchange but probably not appropriate here. If you see anything else like that please let me know <3

Hi! I nominated "The Losers Club (Platonic) (IT Movies)" and "The Losers Club (Romantic) (IT Movies)" and it's the only thing I nommed that hasn't been approved. I was wondering why and if there's a way I could get it approved?

The reason why I nommed it that way is because trying to include all seven names in & and / configurations always gets me the "this is too many characters" error. I've submitted the nom like this in other exchanges and got it accepted. It'd be happy to renominate as "Bill/Richie/Eddie/Ben/Beverly/Mike/Stan" disambiguated if I don't have to include their last names in the nomination or if there's another way around the too many characters limit.

It was on our list of things that was going to go into the next clarifications post! Our guidelines for groups so far has been "Only request it if any one member of that group will be enough" so we weren't sure if you meant Any member/Any member or if you were using it as a way to fit the whole ship into a tag (which clearly from this post is what you meant).

I would prefer you to use the Bill/Richie/Eddie/Ben/Beverly/Mike/Stan version. Not including the last names is fine as long as that's what your fandom will understand.

If the fandom commonly uses "The Losers Club (Romantic)" as a relationship tag instead of ship tags with names then I might be willing to revisit that, since part of the reason for keeping the tags clear is because I'll be checking every work for basic things like ship before approving them, since I have to check for length anyways.

Cool, thank you! I do actually prefer nominating the whole string of character names for the OT7 and platonic Losers club tags, actually, but I've seen "The Losers Club (Romantic)" get nominated and accepted in past exchanges, and I figured that was a compromise to get everyone in group nominated as a ship without breaking the character limit.

I have gone back and edited the nominations, so I hope that works better. Thank you!
