This post is for anyone to post recommendations from the 2024 collection! There are currently 1267 works in the collection, so it's a lot to go through and also a lot that could be highlighted! You can choose to post things for whatever reason you want, and can post as many different recs as you want. There is no minimum number of recs that need to be in a post, so if you have one thing you want to highlight you can post that one! You also may post anonymously.

Your posts need to have some indication of what you're reccing (so not just a list of links), but otherwise how much information you include is up to you! Suggestions of things to include:

Every day from tomorrow until reveals I'm going to be posting Reading Lists! These are, essentially, every work in the collection at least once split out by length and medium. This is the schedule that we expect to post those by!

*Other is a catch all for mediums I felt like separating out which only had one or two works. This currently includes Lists, Dress Up Games, Costume Design, Storyboards, Tarot Cards, Tileable Patterns, Heraldic Crests, In-Universe Mythology, In-Universe Reviews, Floorplans, and McMansion Hell. This list may expand later.

Other dates to keep in mind

December 10th: Post late treats by 10pm EST on the 10th if you want to guarantee they're added to lists that'll be posted on the 11th-15th. The mod who does spreadsheety stuff will be on a work trip that week and may not be able to add new works to those lists while travelling.
December 15th: Post late treats and recs by the end of this day EST to guarantee they'll be on the next day's list! Functionally you'll have until late the next day but not the full day.

This post is for anyone to post recommendations from the 2023 collection! There are currently 984 works in the collection, so it's a lot to go through and also a lot that could be highlighted! Reveals!

Works have revealed! Creator reveals will be on December 16th at 11:59pm EST. Reading lists will be posted from December 4th to December 15th, with a schedule going up either tomorrow or on the 4th! (Later edit: Reading lists will be starting on the 5th!)

You can still post late treats! The collection will be moderated until Creator Reveals, and then left open and unmoderated after that, so there's no deadline on treating! If you're looking for people to treat, head to the following two places:

We've had a few users report issues with viewing images hosted on imgbb.com, so if you've hosted any images there you may want to reupload them! If you can see them on your own work, click through to see if you have a cached version. If you received a gift you cannot view let us know and we will email your creator!

Things to do while we wait:

Check your works for placeholder summaries/titles, silly mod notes you don't want going live, silly titles you don't want going live, and general edits!

If you're still treating, don't forget to check the pinch hitter post (link)! We also have one PH still out (link), while it won't delay reveals, it would still be great to get filled anytime during the anon period if anyone can!

Other things:

If you delete a work, even if it's a treat, please let the mods know! We can see if the count doesn't match our spreadsheet but not which work was deleted, so until we find it everything will go on hold.
We will be temporarily closing the collection 1 hour before reveals. This is to (hopefully) avoid the reveals bug this year. It will be reopened a few minutes after reveals!
The collection will remain moderated until creator reveals on December 16th at 11:59PM EST.
If you're participating in Triple Crown, you can post works towards that until creator reveals.
We will be posting Reading Lists again this year, starting on December 4th and going until December 15th! On December 16th we will post a roundup of works posted in the anon period (you may opt out of this if you want to) and participant recs.
There will be a Recs post for you to post your own recommendations from the collection. You will be able to opt into having your recs included in a Participant Recommendation Reading List

Two Week Delay

The reveals date is being delayed two weeks to November 25th at 11:59PM EST (countdown) to allow time for pinch hits to be finished! You can find the most recent pinch hits at the active PH post tag (link)

If you currently have a PH your due date has not changed. If you'd like to adjust your due date in light of the delay please contact us and we can do that!

The due date of PHs picked up from this point will have a due date of November 24th at 11:59PM EST (countdown). If at any point you don't believe you can complete the PH, please default immediately. If you do end up being able to complete the PH you can always pick it up later!

If you're looking for people to treat, don't forget to check the comments of the pinch hitter post (link)! These are pinch hitters who aren't signed up to the exchange, and it would be lovely if some (or all!) of them got treats!

Pinch Hitter Requests

Requirements:

You are not signed up to the exchange under any username.
You would like the chance to get treats!

Your swapsignments have been sent out to the emails associated with your AO3 accounts! If signed up for swaps and did not receive an email, please contact us so that we can get that information to you!

We would like to thank those of you who signed up to receive extra wordcount. Some of you simply held extra words while we shuffled swaps around, others of you will receive more than 10k in assignments when your swaps email arrives, and in all cases swaps wouldn't have been successful without you!

Here's what you let us do:

904,000 words were swapped! (541,000 last year!)
there were 1604 potential swaps (where one swap is a request from one of you create for someone!) (Last year: 900)
429 swaps were made between 179 participants (Last year: 249 swaps; 122 participants)
3 participants wanted to swap, but unfortunately couldn't; these participants will be prioritized to the best of our ability next year if they sign up for swaps again (Last year: 5)
We now have 694 combined assignments, pinch hits, and swaps out, most of them waiting to be filled! (Last year: 502)

Finally, thank you very much to everyone for your patience. Please refer to this part of the rules for an in-depth refresher on assignment minimums and expectations, but the short of it is: 10k of complete fic (or equivalent opt-in) is due on October 15 at 11:59 EDT. Email us immediately if you have any problems with or questions about your assignment(s).

Other rule reminders/clarifications/information:

These notes aren't related to swaps, we just want you to know this stuff!

Sequels don't have to pretend to be anon (especially since you may need to identify yourself as the same author depending on recip's recursive opt ins) but don't link to or post on social media until after creator reveals.
We'd like to remind everyone that per this part of the rules you can make up or replace 2k of your assignment(s) by creating and posting a unique workskin with tutorial for use during the exchange.
The Google Forms post is your one-stop shop for defaulting, extension requests and assignment summaries without having to directly email us (although you are of course welcome to do that as well!)

Initial Pinch Hits will be going up the evening of September 12th (either today or tomorrow depending on your time zone), to give us time to get all these swaps into the mod sheet and verify all of the pinch hit amounts! Any google forms which aren't currently open will also be opened within the next few days!
