Pinch hits are participants who are without creators; pinch hitting is the practice of volunteering to make a gift for a pinch hit. These pinch hits are all due on October 22 at 11:59 EDT (countdown).

Fic In A Box has a very unusual set of assignment requirements: everyone is owed (and is asking for) 10k of fanfiction, which by default can be given as one 10k+ fic or several 1k+ fics. Participants have also had the option to opt-in to other minimum lengths or to other formats of fanwork. The other fanwork mediums are given word count equivalents, which you can view on the medium ruleset post.

Additionally:

Fic In A Box creators may default after partially filling their assignment — say, if they discover that they can only write 9k of fic — and PHs can be picked up in 1k increments!
You may always swap all or part of your assignment for a PH, just let us know that's what you're doing when you post to claim the PH.

(I’ve only watched S1 and S2 as they killed almost all their characters off, so nothing after that. By all accounts S3 was a bit dull. I might watch S4, but I thought the end of S2 would have been a great place to leave the show, with them opening the door to go out into the “real” world.).
My DWN of "no excessive gore" and "no graphic descriptions of rape" might seem incompatible with "Canon typical violence" as this *is* Westworld, especially since the hosts have no choice but to enjoy sex with humans, and can't refuse to do anything. There's a grey area in there, so if in doubt, ask the Mods to ask.

Teddy, he seems to be one of those Hosts that will always end up screwed over, no matter what - it's the way his story was designed.
I don't ship Teddy with anyone, and I'm not averse to him / with anyone, although I found him and Dolores a bit dull. Him and Wyatt is interesting, and any form of relationship Teddy has with the MiB is bound to be more than a little bit twisted.

Ideas
The MiB is obsessed by Dolores, and so Teddy is his direct rival. Would he use Teddy against Dolores?
Wyatt seems to have been mostly forgotten about, but the idea that he was out there as a host is intriguing. What was his relationship with "Wyatt", how far did it go, how did it fit with "Dolores"? How did they meet (in the narrative), where they friends? What justification did Teddy give for Wyatt’s betrayal?
What about Teddy’s life as the sheriff, before everyone died.
Was he programmed for any other roles before he was the mysterious bounty hunter? Maybe between being sheriff and being the Teddy we see.
There was the new narrative that Ford was mapping out, what was it? What future scenarios might there have been?
The MiB trying to corrupt him might be interesting too, as he is set up as "the good guy".
What if Westworld goes offline and the Hosts are left to fend for themselves? What would Teddy have to do to survive?

And then there is all the possibilities that the computerised side of his nature might contain. - Programming errors, calibration, de-bugging, system error, blue screen of death. Teddy cycling through his loop, but his programming degrades each time round.

My favourite character is Mandrake. I’d prefer &s rather than /s but maybe the poor guy needs a bit of fun as well, but I’d prefer no Mandrake/Jedda

The canon-typical violence here can be stretched upwards a little, as it was a kids cartoon in the 80s and maybe needs a bit of updating.
And it’s probably a bit mean to say no K’shin or Zuffy, but they are just so annoying (in that 80s cartoon sidekick kind of way), so if you could find them something wholesome to do “off camera” that would be fantastic.

Something with him and Dynak X the supercomputer. Magic vs technology, similarities and differences. She would have a unique opinion about him and his skills. Would they be able to work together without any of the other defenders there too?
And talking of similarities and differences, what about Mandrake and Ming? How about Ming finding a way to “persuade” Mandrake to join his team? Or and AU where Mandrake does end up on the other side of the conflict for some reason?
Could they be persuaded to work together for some reason?
He’s keeper of the Crystal of Konos, so potential there for time shenanigans and other temporal fun. He’s also a Shadow Lord of huge power. What would he do if it all went horribly wrong? Would he turn “Strange-Supreme” and go on a rampage to set it right? How far would he really go?

Anyway…
My favourite character is Goosefat Bill. I don’t ship him with anyone, although I quite like the idea of him and Maggie, and the only / I don’t like is him and Bedivere, as they seem to be good friends more than anything more.

Sir William Wilson, member of Uther’s inner circle, and rebellion spy! He’s both, and he fits into both worlds. So how did a high-ranking court member end up a top-flight spy?
What was he like while Uther was alive, and how did he react to his death?
What was the personal cost to Bill for not cosying up to Vortigen?
I’d imagine he’d do what he had to do to be such a good spy, how does he actually feel about that? Him and Bedivere worked for years to find Arthur and try and protect the people. What sort of things did they have to do?
I kind of want to read a fic entitles “Bill and Bed’s Excellent Adventure”, just because it would be funny…
How did he end up in the brothel, what was that mission about?
How did he get his nickname?
How about something post-film film with Arthur and Bill in the Darklands fighting giant monsters?

Basically, anything. How helpful!
But there is so little in this fandom that anything about these two mages, or their world, would be amazing.
It is one of my all-time favourite games, and I could happily play it all day (and I have!). That’s part of the reason I need fic for it, I’ve played it so much and spent so much time thinking about it while playing that my brain demands answers. I have my own ideas, but I’d love to hear other people’s, especially since this is such a teeny weeny fandom.
The heroes showing up would be okay too, I don’t mind. The “in-character” part of my likes is more difficult, especially since you don’t get too much characterisation of any of them.

Wtf does Sumner do all day in his tower? He’s always there. He stands around and seems to do nothing.
Does he feel any guilt about dragging these heroes into his family problem.
And how does he get so many (basically infinite) power-ups for the heroes? Does he craft them?
And what does he do with all the gold he gets?
As he’s so powerful why did he need to drag the players into all of this?
And why doesn’t he just *tell* them where the runestones are? Why all the secrecy (obviously for the game, but in-universe…)
And why bother with all those crystals to open the doors, just what is going on in that tower???
Garm is his brother, what’s their story?
And how did Garm meet up with Skorne? Why did he betray the world?

Oh, one of my favourite parts isn’t even in the main game - when you quit and it goes “game over”, there is a short scene with Sumner at this podium and Skorne’s fist punches through the wall and pulls him away. I love it! And what an excellent starting point for a fic!

In canon, Michael has been blown up, tortured, brainwashed and drugged into attempting to kill his superior, all within the span of three years. That's got to leave a few demons, particularly ones that he's really not in a position where he can admit to them. PTSD? Nightmares? Perhaps some seriously unhealthy coping mechanisms? Caitlin's been through some things herself, including having a bomb strapped to her. I could easily see her picking up on there being something wrong with Michael. I'd love any sort of take on that, from a gen version up to and including kink (bondage, blood play, pain play?)

I'd also be up for any of the usual “get together” type tropes. Undercover as a couple? Trapped in a snowstorm? Etc.

If that's not your thing, how about some sort of fix-it fic for the way Michael is “transferred” and Caitlin simply disappears at the end of the third season? Any rating is fine. (If you choose to go this route, I'm okay with Dom and/or String being killed.)

(I know Michael/Caitlin isn't the usual pairing, and if you're not a fan, gen is perfectly okay as well. Just please don't fix either up with anyone else. Note that mentions of past Michael/Maria are fine.)

I'm up for all or any of the characters in whatever combination you'd like to write them. Equally, if you'd like to concentrate on just one character and tell a story from their perspective, that's good, too.

I love the premise of this, and however you would like to expand on it would be great. Perhaps they need to deal with a balky piece of office equipment? I can just imagine what a disaster putting toner into the copier would be. Or, perhaps you would like to continue on from the “ending” where they were all out of a job because their company had gone bankrupt. Are they going on a quest filing for unemployment? Going on job interviews? Traveling in a car or on a plane?

For this fandom, I would also be interested in something non-traditional, if your muse takes you in that direction. Character sheets? The dungeon master's notes for a prospective adventure? If you have another idea, go for it!

Likes: essentially, more like canon.

I'd love to see Sheldon on Atlantis, with or without his friends, probably arguing with McKay. Put Sheldon in the lab, checking McKay's work, or put him on a gate team (where he would undoubtedly complain more than McKay), or nearly coming to blows in the lab. (If you want to go with any of the non-fic options, I can think of SO many ways Sheldon's presence on Atlantis could generate ALL kinds of paperwork!)

Prefer canon pairings or Sheldon/Penny (if any) for TBBT, anything goes with SGA. I am mostly interested in Sheldon from TBBT, but I have no problem with the other guys or girls also being on Atlantis, and as scientists they'd be easy to include. If you'd like to add Penny, perhaps she's there to (try to) keep the peace? Maybe she has the Ancient gene?

This is the one fandom there is so much potential in terms of playing with the form of the writing. Historical documents of the canonical settings, newspaper gazettes, posters, cabaret adverts, personal letters and diary entries and telegrams... you name it. 1930s Berlin allows for the maximum potential of creativity and historical anecdotes. The world-building for this musical is phenomenal, portraying Berlin at the fall of the Weimar Republic with the perfect combination of glee and despair. It is chilling, rotten, a festering, curdling city in all its beauty, with its flamboyant, bold climax of survival but also its ultimate putrefaction. I would love to see any of this conveyed in the worldbuilding. Seeing as the cast of so rich, having a rotation of perspectives and letting the event be narrated through conflicting ways would be so interesting. I'm so down to read about original characters in this setting as well.
In terms of experimenting with form, this is the one fandom where having a meta-fictions take on the story would work remarkably well. Perhaps the self-contained cabaret performance is a reenactment of their own life? Perhaps the afterlife is a musical that they are trapped in? Perhaps Sally, even after her death, is trapped in a musical performance of her life from which she struggles to be set free? Perhaps the characters of the Kit Kat Club realize that their very life is a musical performance observed by an outside audience, from a historical perspective?
The Emcee is an amazing character: wild, exuberant, satirical, gleeful yet uneasily clever, luxuriating in the attention of the audience. He jumps from song to song with the fluid lyricism of a desolate poet and provides scathing commentary on the state of the city around him. I would love to have any study of the Emcee's elusive persona or to see the world through his perspective.
The boys and girls of the Kit Kat Club are so dilapidated, so ravaged, so pitiful but so charming. What does the political situation mean for the dancers at the Kit Kat Club? What are their perspectives on the city around them, and where do they end up post-canon?
Any look at Sally Bowles, whether it's pre-, during, or post-canon, would make me delighted. She is dirty yet charming, sullen yet begrudgingly adorable, determined yet floundering, bristly, spiteful but vulnerable. I could still remember the first time watching the musical onstage and watching her deliver the “Cabaret" number with such manic terror, guttural hopelessness, and raw emotion. I shall always remember her wearing nothing but underclothing and a too-big blazer, a pair of men’s trousers, smudged make-up, her bones so shrunken beneath those dull clothes, and the tousled ugliness and sheer lack of dignity during that scene makes it so much more powerful. Her candle burns at both ends and she will not last the night, but what a lovely light.
Finally, I also love looking at Cliff: his initial naivety, his fascination with the world around him, his own internal struggle with his sexuality and his interactions with the other characters. I love looking at his friendship (or intimacy) with Sally. I loved the hint of playful, elusive chemistry between Cliff and Ernst Ludwig, or the dancer Bobby, shadowed by Cliff's own hesitation and a perpetual melancholy. I love missing scenes, both of a lustful/romantic nature or not, between Cliff and the men around him. I am also familiar with the 1972 film and Goodbye to Berlin, so feel free to incorporate elements/characters from those.

I’m really down to have fics that explore the time-traveling concepts of Steins;Gate with popular theoretical physics, being partially familiar with some of them after reading works such as John Gribbin’s In Search of the Multiverse or Brian Greene’s The Hidden Reality. Just… feel free to incorporate theoretical physics into adventure stories, and completely fuck with the accepted laws of physics in general? I’m a bit too obsessed with Multiverse theories outside of the celebrated (or infamous) Schrödinger’s cat experiment. If string theory can be applied to the canon universe - seeing as it is built upon the idea that eleven dimensions exist - what happens if the characters find a way to perceive more than three dimensions as technology progresses in the future? Is it possible for world-lines to self-destruct? I’m down for more time-paradoxes like the one they portrayed in Load Region of Déja Vu. (I have no knowledge of any of the OVAs or the drama CDs but by all means refer to theories referenced there if you’d like.)
I’d love to know more about the divergence meter. What inspired its creation? What are its boundaries when it was discovered? Is there an exact measurement of when a divergence causes the percentage to rise above 1%? How can it be manipulated under other circumstances?
I would love an exploration of the ethics of time-travel and its emotional consequences. I’d love to look at the after-effects of everyone’s Reading Steiner allowing them to access memories from another world-line being a significant symptom of their PTSD. How do each of the characters deal with the memories and flashbacks/flash-forwards of alternate lives? How does this change them?
Most of all, I’m also really obsessed with the idea that different events can alter a person’s character and values. Do the members of the Future Gadget Lab perchance have completely different personalities in world lines further away from their own due to changing circumstances? How would it change their interactions? My guilty pleasure AU is an AU where Okabe’s ultimate villainous enemy is the alternate Okabe from another world-line (or maybe future!Okabe), and he has to battle his own mirrored shadow across multiple world-lines trying to outsmart the evil version of himself. The angst and tension and dramatic potential in this AU would be insane. The same AU for Kurisu would be equally amazing. What if the Alpha world-line future!Kurisu turns out to be a ruthless, unthinkingly cruel individual, perhaps as a result of her relationship with her father? How would that change Okabe’s perception of her? And what challenges would this pose to the protagonists as they try to protect/stabilize the Steins; Gate word-line?
Suzuha
Amane Suzuha is so precious to me, being my first (and dearest) favorite character in this show, so any close look at her adventures, emotions, thoughts - in the Alpha, Beta, or Steins; Gate worldline - would make me so happy. I would love looking at her in the Alpha world-line future, working as part of the resistance against SERN. I would love to see her face moral decisions and deal with the emotional repercussions of committing violence as a way to achieve a peaceful goal. Perhaps even a canon-divergence AU: maybe a mishap with the time-machine leads her to travel through countless world-lines trying to return to her original destination, maiming (and reshaping) her during the process. I love her feistiness, her kindness, her lighthearted charisma, and above all her strength and incredible determination. I just love Suzuha. Suzuha deserves the world.
Idea for AU: what if someone else other than Okabe - Kurisu, Mayuri, or Moeka - possessed the strongest Reading Steiner instead? What if it is one of them, instead of Okabe, who becomes the one rampaging through alternate world-lines trying to salvage a hopeful future battling the relentless tsunami of circumstances?
I’m also totally down… for AUs that are unrelated to the canon setting? Mafia/Detective AUs. Post-Apocalypse AUs. Space AUs. Matrix!AUs where the characters try to navigate a simulated reality. Soulmate AUs with original twists. Any AU that shows the characters of the Future Gadget Lab interacting with each other and loving each other in their own rugged, heartfelt ways. I'm okay with fics that are pure character studies.
I really, really love this show, so either break my heart or heal it. I’m okay with both maximum amounts of angst (major character death, heartbreak, grief) or shameless amounts of fluff (all the characters just caring for each other and bantering across various world-lines, for example). I’m so excited for any of the exhilarating mind-fuckery that you can come up with.

I love this pairing so much. Guy’s slow descent into madness and his struggle between his own morality and capacity for violence is perhaps the most chillingly executed aspect of the novel. How he struggles between maintaining his own innocence and being drawn into Bruno’s corruptive but seductive vortex will always be what takes my breath away. I am fascinated by how Guy comes to realize how he himself has the same capacity for violence and darkness, how he has irrevocably fallen in “love” (whatever that means) with Bruno, and that he is already trapped within of the lethal but hypnotic vortex of Bruno’s pathetic magnetism.
A character study of Bruno would be so, so great. He’s fucked-up, enigmatic, infuriating, complicated, loathsome but pitiable. I'd be so happy with an elaboration of his relations with his father and mother would be very disturbing. On top of that, I love the idea of:
- Angst, morbid pining on Charles Bruno’s part
- Missing scenes. Missing scene(s) between either of them during the novel would be amazing: after their first initial meeting, after Miriam’s murder, during the persuasion era, when they’re under suspicion, right before the finale on the boat etc. literally anywhere
- An exploration of more awkwardness, discomfort, unease, downright cringy uncomfortable weirdness in their daily interactions (think that scene in The Talented Mr Ripley when Tom gets caught in Dickie’s clothes, like that kind of awkwardness that’s inevitable with Bruno and somehow fascinating in its crudeness and peculiarity)
- An exploration of the similarities/parallels between Guy and Bruno’s characters, how they are in fact deep down very similar (“two opposite sides of an electron” etc.)
I'm gonna go ahead and say that mild smut (as part of character/emotional exploration) is okay for me, even though I’d prefer avoiding PwP. Fucked-up, kinda disturbing fluff would be great - i.e. Guy slowly unravelling his own feelings for Bruno and they attempt to figure it out in a fucked-up way, Bruno taking care of Guy and loving him the only way he knows how to (which is basically the plot of the novel in explicit terms). Regarding this pairing dubious consent is fine - canonically speaking, there’s quite a bit of murky dub-con going on, so elaborating on that would be absolutely wonderful.
A fix-it of the original canon would be excruciatingly lovely, especially if it stays brutally in-character, with the same moral turmoil and unhealthy obsessions. I like toying with the idea of Guy and Bruno figuring things out in a domestic, canonical setting; Guy taking care of our poor eccentric sociopath, arguing with him, berating him, caring for him clumsily, and Bruno slowly turning into the uncertain version of a better self as he begins to learn how to care for someone in a less violent way, and Guy adjusting to that. Just a promise of reconciliation and a hint at something hopeful after the carnage. A sort of escalation of the tragedy - in which Bruno and Guy kill each other, either figuratively or literally - would be extremely painful but lovely as well.
I adore Patricia Highsmith to any basic degree so an attempt to emulate or capture her style would make me beyond grateful. I once compared most of her noir to dark coffee, straight and undiluted and bitter in their cynicism, and the occasional homoerotic ambivalence is therefore akin to a dash of milk that renders the concoction softer, almost dreamy. The bitter dark coffee - with perhaps a dash of milky ambiguity and phantom sweetness along the way - is just my jam.

What I love most of course about Reservoir Dogs is its style: its humor, its garish scenes of violence, its electrifying dialogue, its elegiac sense of doom. The movie has so much hilarious, vibrant, remarkable style and that alone is amazing. I love its ludicrous unfolding of the storyline, its non-linear timeline, its masterful build-up of tension, its electric, eccentric style of storytelling. I love how the perspective is manipulated so that we get to see through every character’s viewpoint in this subtle omnipotent overall sketch. Every character is rendered is such staccato, colorful brushstrokes that only a few scenes brings an entire person to life. I love that.
My ultimate guilty pleasure is a “the gang survives and gets back together for another heist” fic!! I would love a fic where these characters actually do get to bond together - begrudgingly, shakily, rustily, with the same typical surface macho toughness that’s boyish and pompous and ridiculous about how they construct their own personas. I'd love the banter, the bickering, the utterly random discussions, the general hilarious anecdotes, anything you can think of. Something character-centric, focusing on the development of these wonderful infuriating bastards, would just be the most amazing fic for me.
I would love, love something centered around Mr Pink. Because I love him to death and there’s not - repeat, not - enough fic out there about Pink. It doesn’t have to be slash!fic with another character specifically (though I definitely wouldn’t mind if it was); a mere character study of that ridiculous, hilariously, infuriatingly lovable asshole would reduce me to tears of gratitude. A future-fic of the movie’s aftermath would be nice, as would an in-character backstory. I'm a sucker of Mr Pink surviving, upon which he either returns to his criminal life or embarks on something new. A missing scene from somewhere during the film - an in-depth, feral, and very wild snapshot in that poor kid’s mind - would also be really cool.
I also have a very soft spot for Vic/Eddie and there’s preciously little good Toothpick Bitchslap fic in the world. I love how two tough, worldly, nasty young idiots care for each other with such a captivating and unique dynamic. I love the little dance that they have of simultaneous aggression and ragged, unspoken tenderness. A snapshot of how they interact, how they condone and tolerate each other, how they’re just boys holding onto each other the best way they can, whilst remaining incredibly stupidly macho, gruesome, gritty, and in-character, would be so great. (If you could include a cameo from Vincent Vega somewhere in a Vic-centric... I'd be tickled to no end...)
Finally, Orange/White. I love them. I love their characterization. I adore both sexual and non-sexual intimacy explored in fiction, and I love how sometimes this total intimacy can be achieved between these two individuals that are nothing alike, and their dynamic really encompasses that sort of peculiar, ambivalent intimacy. Larry/Freddy in whatever shape of form will never fail me make me glow with heartbreak and joy and exasperation and all that lovely fucked-up emotion.

Othello/Iago
The action, the backstory, the history between them that we never got in canon is so interesting. I'd love some little anecdotes about Othello and Iago's past victories and failures, joys and agonies, disagreements and forgivenesses. The history of scars, wounds, and bloodied victories could only richen the depth of their camaraderie/relationship and what they've been through together. All this powerful emotions like a razor's edge balanced between love and hate must trace back to some sort of history between them. In what ways is their positions as soldiers significant to the anger and the bloodshed that the tragedy brings?
Iago's comment on their past military experiences with each other is fascinating for me - I'd love to discover the little anecdotes embedded in their previous friendship. I'd love some glorious, gruesome memories of fighting alongside each other, the mutual violence and the electric connection between that defies any notion of time and space. It strips away all the illusions of civilization and sophistication of Venetian society, and show them at their rawest, most brutal core in this bloodthirsty combat. Just think of everything, everything they've been through together - and how that had contributed to Iago's ultimate fall, his spiral towards loathing and evil.
Prompts:
- How did the two meet? Where? And how have they changed since then?
- Has Iago always been so internally bitter and so sadistically cunning? Or is it some recent event that transformed him into a crueler version of himself?
- I've always felt that the "Beware jealousy" speech comes from personal experience, and an elaboration of that would be so cool. I'd be so happy to get a deeper exploration of the sullen angst and hatred - or perhaps the spite and spurned bitterness arising from shattered love - that slowly grows to corrupt Iago's character. Did his previous intimacy with Othello somehow contributed to such jealousy? If so, how?
- What would happen if Othello never met Desdemona? If their relationship is twisted and doomed, would something else subsequently cause the fracture between them instead?
I'm also totally if you want to have their relationship be previously platonic rather than romantic. Twisted platonic relationships can be equally heartrending and equally fucked-up and I would love to look at them through any lens.
Cassio/Iago.
This pairing is WILD. The tension between them is insane. The electric tension and bitter energy throughout Act III... from the whole "beware jealousy" speech, to the heart-to-heart with Othello, and Iago's whole recounting of the "... as if he plucked up kisses by the roots that grew on my lips" scene stuns me with its sheer power. All of the characters are trapped together in this lethal cycle, all the complex affections and resentments spilling all over the place and overfilling so much that it's impossible to untangle, and it's so well-written.
Prompts:
- A character-study of Cassio. I often think about boyishly callous he is, how cruel he can be as he belittles Bianca's earnest affections, as well as the way he's immature, impetuous, hot-tempered and pompous in his rather petty self-confident ego. He's obsessed with reputation and deep down a little lost, a little lonely. He’s headstrong, pompous, vain, but ultimately he’s way out of his depth in terms of how brutal and cruel the world around him could be. If he and Iago met under completely different circumstances, how would their friendship/acquaintance have changed?
- What if they met under different circumstances? Would their dynamic be different?
- Missing scenes between them throughout the play: their first meeting, for example. Details of their rivalry for Othello's trust. Explorations of how Iago manipulates Cassio in particular.

One of my favorite things about the show is the narrative foil created between Korosensei and Asano Gakuhou as teachers. The show creates the most masterful comparison in showing how both their careers as a teacher has been fundamentally shaped by a student they’ve failed. Whilst Reaper!Korosensei failed his student by failing to love his student outside of his judgmental selfishness, Asano (or so he believes) failed his student by loving him too much and subsequently taking far too much responsibility for his death. I also loved how the antagonism between the two men has relented into begrudging understanding and camaraderie towards the end of the show, and I would love to see that explored more. A fix-it whereby Korosensei survives and continues teaching at Kunugigaoka would also lend so much potential for him and (the now disgraced) Asano to interact and that would be so amazing.
I have a huge soft spot for Asano Gakushuu and I will never tire of fics that explore the complexity of his relationship with his father. I would be so happy to get snapshots of both childhood interactions and post-canon reconciliations (or if they do not reconcile, up to you entirely). Whether it’s pre-canon or post-canon, their dynamic of viciousness and antagonism and barely-there affection. The push and pull of power between them is twisted and tragic in so many ways: just an abyss of angst and resentment that I would like to see explored more. I would love to see Gakushuu with the rest of 3-E and how they might interact; I would also love to see Gakushuu interact with the rest of the Big Five (or the virtuosos) and how their friendship has evolved over the years. I would love to see him pushed to breaking point and at his most vulnerable, but also his incredible strength, his vicious drive and his stubbornness. I wouldn’t mind seeing him getting dragged into assassination plots, kidnappings, freaky life-or-death circumstances, or even just tricky emotional situations...
I’d be very happy if anyone went for the lighthearted but melancholic lens in portraying the students and their adolescence. I’m a sucker for all the 3-E interacting? I love the mundane and domestic details that the show manages to make so heartwarming: Isogai coping with with his family financial situation by juggling multiple responsibilities, Chiba and Hayami bonding over rifles, Okuda’s quiet but blazing passion for the things she loves... I would love to see Okuda and Karma interacting. I would love to see Itona fitting in reluctantly with the Teresaka gang (or just literally anything about Itona in general). My favorite thing of all is how colorful and fleshed-out this entire ensemble is, so I would love literally anything about any of them.
Lighthearted interpretations aside, I would also very, very much enjoy it if someone were to interpret these prompts through a darker lens. The show touches upon so many dark themes - murder, for one - subtly and cleverly, leaving the disturbing layer unexplored. Nagisa’s relationship with his mother is the epitome of stifled abuse and obsession - same goes with the needling, incessant abuse that Asano Gakuhou had inflicted onto his son for many years. The abuse is so ubiquitous and intrinsically part of their childhood that neither of them even think of it as abuse. The parallels between the two are so interesting and I would find it fascinating if the boys somehow… bonded over that?
I would love some generally dark/supernatural takes on the original storyline. Perhaps the Shinigami (or Reaper) as his name suggests not only assassinates his victims but Turns them, somehow, and the students are left throughout the course of the show to slaughter an army of the undead when these undead victims return for revenge? Perhaps the destruction of Shiro’s lab releases a deadly virus, and the 3-E kids along with the rest of the world are left fending off a rampant infection of monsters? Perhaps this is an AU with ghosts, and Korosensei is plagued by phantoms of his previous victims as well as Yukimura Aguri? Perhaps the 3-E kids are forced into a Battle-Royale-esque situation and they must fight their way out tooth and nail? I would love a situation where the 3-E kids actually have to put their so-called assassination skills to genuine, gruesome use, and then have to deal with the psychological/emotional consequences of killing. I love them having to come to terms with how grisly and brutal the violence of assassination actually is. (I always thought Korosensei’s ultimate cause of death was awfully reminiscent of a vampire with a stake driven through its heart, so feel free to go dark and play with that imagery.)
This is probably the time where I should mention I’m also a sucker for the maximum angst possible, and I’m okay with major character death, graphic descriptions of blood, gore, sickness etc. - bring it on, I would love it.

I’m obsessed with fan theories e.g. the Fool was actually Cordelia the whole time, accompanying and comforting and protecting her suffering father behind a disguise. There are so many little ironies and mirrored traits that lend to delicious doubling opportunity: Cordelia's perception matching the Fool's wisdom, Cordelia's reserved stability versus the Fool's wild chaos. Their shared loyalty, and their steadfast stubbornness; the roles they play in Lear's life, and Lear's heart. Not only is the "Now my poor fool hang'd" line suggestive: there are so many little hints that lead to a rendition of how Cordelia and the Fool share aspects of a very similar identity. Imagining the Fool as Cordelia in disguise also creates such a wonderful narrative foil for Edgar's "Poor Tom" accompanying Gloucester's through the latter's despair and pain: wronged children and wronged fathers, forgiveness and love, deception and loss of identity. There are just so many opportunities. Apart from this, I love Cordelia in general. She’s got the same streak of determination in her that seems to belong to all Lear daughters, ruthlessly adapting to her circumstances without losing her hope and humanity.
I am interested by all potential interactions between the Lear daughters. Give me more Cordelia & Regan & Goneril childhood family lore and I would lap it up.
Edgar: love of my life. Clueless, innocent, stupidly loyal, constantly entrapped in situations beyond his control, he is trying his noble best even in all his loss and turmoil. The ability to hide, contort, and escape is one of my favorite things about Edgar's character: at times, I see the "Poor Tom" persona as his coping mechanism, how he responds to despair and grief, in which he constantly escapes himself and his own tragic situation through role-playing and deception. Does this so-called act begin to weigh on his mind? Does his Poor Tom disguise genuinely begin to warp his sanity? Is his "Poor Tom" persona a schizophrenic manifestation? I'd also be really happy if anyone leant on the supernatural potential of this, and explored "Poor Tom" as a literal feral spirit that has possessed Edgar, ravaging his mental state but also helping him by giving him the strength to survive.
I adore Edmund's fascinating conniving cleverness, bitterness, and how his motives ranging between self-preservation to recognition to lust for power to this child-like, aching need for love. He’s just such an evil charming git. Warped, distorted, festered inwardly with all sorts of envies and ambitions and resentments, but at heart still a boy with his unconscious desire for acceptance. I would be so happy for any takes at all on Edgar & Edmund's childhood relationship - that's my Achilles heel, I would pour over anything about them.
Most of all, I also love the Edmund/Cornwall relationship: the power-play and danger beneath their acquaintance is fascinating. Cornwall recognizes Edmund's need for recognition and manipulates it masterfully, even during the short time they spend together. Having Edmund/Cornwall/Regan as a threesome is also utterly seductive and has so much disturbing potential - if it's the three of them I want to feel the maximum cunning and danger beneath it all, perhaps manifesting as their lust for each other. Edmund being seduced by the couple but then coming back to bite them, Edmund seeking to seduce either (or both) of them and getting caught-up in their poisonous, hypnotic relationship, Edmund being beguiled by Cornwall despite knowing that the latter seeks to manipulate him, the constant tug-of-war of control and dominance in their mutual seduction... I would love anything. Perhaps an AU where Cornwall survives the servant's attack instead of Regan. Perhaps an AU where Edmund plans his own deceptions differently and seeks Cornwall's help right away even before betraying Edgar. I love dark takes on their relationships and especially if there's genuine emotional vulnerability tangled with within the political motives.

Glitch and Rennax live in my brain rent free (I'd honestly be happy for any content with either of them) These ships aren't so much my deeply thought out rare pairs as they are some random ships I thought could work well.

Crosshair/Glitch/Hunter/Tech/Wrecker: Maybe glitch was an engineered special clone like the rest of the bad batch, maybe they met him during a mission realized that he was also different and adopted him, maybe while the bad batch are on the run from the empire they meet another runaway clone.
Glitch/Dogma: The galaxy is a small play and I'm sure it's not that unlikely that two runaway clones might meet each other, or maybe Dogma got reassigned to Glitch's battalion. I honestly just really like how different these two are, and I think they'd be interesting together.
Ahsoka Tano/Rennax Omani: First of all I just think they are both nifty. I love the similarities between them! They are both padawans who left the order, they both grew up in a war, I think they'd get along pretty well. I accidentally stumbled across this ship and fell in love with it! I was so excited to see that someone had nominated it! There's something so perfect about taking my fav married couple and pairing them with my fav disaster wizard!
As I mentioned before I love both Midnighter and Apollo! But Constantine has been one of my DC favs since long before I ever read The Authority comics!
I'm a sucker for Constantine's angst and unhealthy coping mechanisms! Thus I especially love the idea of Constantine slowly letting down his walls around the other two! The intimacy of trust! Plus Midpollo would probably be quite chill with Constantine's moral grayness!

I'm happy with anything set at any point in their timeline, but I'd love especially to see anything and everything of where they go after the end of their book. What is Jerry's long (not-quite) con? Who is the sub, and what's his thing? Why's he looking for a dom? Where has he even tried, or does his personality/pride/(backstory item) forbid him from even trying to look, and the dom just drops serendipitously into his life? Some ideas for you to pick and choose from at your will:
- The sub is a corporate CEO/mega famous star/imperial judge from a fantasy or scifi setting/(insert high performing position of choice here) who deals with just too much bullshit on a day to day basis
- Flip the socioeconomic scale: he's a retail associate/flight attendant/house cleaner/teacher/(insert high performing position of choice here) who deals with just as much, if not more, bullshit as the list of people above

And then the dom! What keeps him in his house? Is he able to go anywhere else? Some ideas:

Regardless of their potential individual backstories, go wild on how they meet and then go on with their association! Set this in the real world, or go back and forth in time, or go to space, or maybe they're vampires, or go for a (soulmate/alpha-beta-omega/???) AU: I'm down for anything! Some ideas I'd love to see in a fic or explored:
- They never ever meet in the flesh, but BOY does the dom have a lot of fun dropping lists of things for the sub to do in his (inbox/text messages/official imperial mail). I'd especially love seeing the dom giving instructions that round back, at the end of the day, to actually being able self-care for the sub: GO EXERCISE might be a fierce dictum of a set of orders, but then the sub finds they actually really like running and that it's good for them. Or I AM ORDERING ALL YOUR FOOD THIS WEEK, and it's all excellent tasty things that the sub likes. Or STOP AND SIT IN SILENCE AND DON'T LET ANYONE INTERRUPT YOU FOR SIX HOURS. Ooh-ah!
- Or maybe there's some excellent voyeur/exhibition stuff going on: the dom books a hotel across the road from a room he books for the sub in another hotel and then watches! Or maybe there's some fun video chat, or audio voice messages, or fun tasks like "go clubbing and pick someone up and then let me hear the results!"
- I've got a bunch of opt-in medium tags selected: any one of these would be super fun to see! Lists of things that the sub does for denial? Wherever you go with this, no matter how (N)SFW, any character interaction over why these two particular people click would be the best. Is it something about the dom's [voice/occupation/aloof and cool but thoughtful personality]? Is it that they just have MAD CHEMISTRY? Is it because the sub is respectful of the dom's boundaries not just in scene but in life? Are they both [florists/lawyers/fanboys of Lord Byron/??] or complete opposites?

DNWs: I'm not particularly interested in very formalised lifestyle BDSM: I'd thoroughly enjoy reading someone being given orders to be followed throughout their day, but would prefer to steer away from, say, rigid forms of address (only ever thinking about a dom as Sir, for e.g.) in a 24/7 nonstop way. I'm fine if the characters are experimenting with it to find (rapidly) that it doesn't work for them! Also: daddy kink. If you want the dom to actually leave his house at the very end for Reasons, sure – but please engage the conceit for a majority of the fic!

- Maybe "vegetarian" means one of the following or none of the following: drinks but doesn't kill humans/only drinks non-human blood/is literally a vegetarian somehow!
- So if the vampire's going to have to go hungry at various points in this experiment... 8D Snacking on the scientist? Or maybe a wholesome snack that's very unexpected?
- Do they ever succeed?
- Why does the vampire want to go vegetarian in the first place? Is it a common thing that he somehow struggles with because [he's too young/he's too old/he just really likes the taste of O- and has a problem]? Is there a [government/Vampire Tracking Secret Society/??] edict that all vampires have to go vegetarian OR ELSE?
I'm happy for you to spin this in whatever direction you want: tongue-in-cheek crackiness, taken-seriously psychological horror, or anything in between.

If you'd like to gender-flip the Main Character's wife into a husband or anything else, feel free. If you want to magic away geography and pretend any lines about real countries doesn't exist, do that too!
Is the song literal? Is he literally seeking revenge, emptying souls and drinking blood like it's a spectacular cocktail? Are we talking about him becoming a vampire here, or is he some eldritch thing of your own invention, or is he still human? Or what about what the song says about him becoming sort of law and order unto himself a la Batman? TELL ME ANYTHING. If you've got some serious gothic vibes to drop, I'm here for that; or maybe there's a horror story here, that would be cool too!
From the worldbuilding side of things, I'd love anything you want to throw at me about the mechanics of how this happened. Are there others like him? What relationship do healing holy men have with the rest of the world? How lawless is the place the main character lives in?
Medium ideas:

Did they all just meet at a social club? Or are they a long-established triad that meets [all the time/only once a year at a ball/office party/induction of mages in some fantasy world]? Request Specifics
For any Trek, I absolutely love exploration fic and science mysteries, either as the focus of a plot or as a backdrop for character exploration. Action-adventure stuff is great as well.
With SNW, I'm open to either serious stories or amusing hijinks. The crew had great chemistry with each other and I really loved how flexible the show was with different genres. All members of the Enterprise crew are welcome to show up, not just those there are tags for. I also love worldbuilding that explores the specifics of this time period. We've seen them play a lot more fast and loose with things like the Prime Directive and first contact than the 24th century shows, because they're still making a lot of it up as they go. It'd also be fun to see outsider POVs of how famous the Enterprise and other Connies seem to be based on how much Tilly wanted to be on one and Dax's fondness for them.

In true Lower Decks style this doesn't have to be something grand and epic, it could just be these doofuses trying to herd tribbles, accidentally soul bonding, or covering up an increasing number of duplicates from the future or otherwise engaging in time shenanigans. You can still go serious if you want, though, much as the series does at times. If you do any kind of art, please do not feel bound by the Lower Decks style. We've also gotten a lot more looks at everyday life in Starfleet and the Federation that could make for some great world building. Cetacean ops! Rutherford's cybernetics! The Zebulon Sisters and Klingon acid punk! The Black Mountain and the Koala. Go wild.

There's a couple things that I loved about the series and wanted to highlight. First, how protective they are of each other, especially Rand for Mat as KNIFE MADNESS set in. Second, how much respect they have for each other, even if Mat is a bit grouchy much of the time. Rand and Egwene were really understanding and caring even as they recognized their choices led them in different directions. I'd love to see more of that and exploring the world.

Request Specifics
For any Star Wars, I appreciate both the potential character interactions or action-adventure plots. I would prefer something with a canon-style tone, where things can get dark but ultimately the heroes prevail. Also, while I chose some specific ship tags, I am not opposed to fics with canon pairings like Han/Leia, Padme/Anakin, Bail/Breha, and so forth. I would just prefer not to have them as the main plot focus unless it's for one of the worldbuilding tags. (Han and Leia go on a romantic trip, no; Han and Leia have to deal with the fact that everyone in the Rebellion propaganda arm is up in their business and bounty hunters keep harassing them while trying to get dinner, yes.)
With the Original Trilogy, I chose a lot of groups that didn't get a lot of interaction time but would be cool to see more of. I especially like the twins' adoptive parents, seeing how people who knew Padme and Anakin interact with them, and some Vader drama. More exploration of Luke and Leia learning about the Jedi lore and training would be nice as well. I also have some friends/comrades to lovers pairings for Luke.

For any Trek, I absolutely love exploration fic and science mysteries, either as the focus of a plot or as a backdrop for character exploration. Action-adventure stuff is great as well. DS9 gave a lot of everyday life on a space station and a deeper look at how the Federation functions. I'd love to get more of that. Stargate is an old canon that I still love a lot. It would be great to get some more of it. I particularly enjoyed how it was a sci-fi setting but mixed with the modern day. I also really liked the characters. I chose my favorites to actually put in the request but if I had more space there would have been more. I'd love to see their canon-typical hijinks and drama as a launching board to explore the SG universe, especially things like interstellar politics and relations, the everyday work on making a top-secret hush-hush space hole program operate, and Ancient city wackiness.
Please steer clear of any post-2016 RL politics and events. There was already a different president elected in 2004 so let's stay either back in the series time period or go AU.

These AMT are mostly inter-period groups, except for the ones between some of the OT gang and Rebels/surviving Clone Wars. Some of them clearly require some sort of time shenanigans, but others like those with Mace or Padme could involve them surviving into the OT or Sequel period. Mace in particular could be interesting because he's both a very traditional Jedi but he show a lot of warmth and humor, just in a different style than Obi-Wan does.
