ficinabox | Initial Pinch Hits (Part One!) 1-10

Pinch hits are participants who are without creators; pinch hitting is the practice of volunteering to make a gift for a pinch hit. These pinch hits are all due on October 22 at 11:59 EDT (countdown).

Fic In A Box has a very unusual set of assignment requirements: everyone is owed (and is asking for) 10k of fanfiction, which by default can be given as one 10k+ fic or several 1k+ fics. Participants have also had the option to opt-in to other minimum lengths or to other formats of fanwork. The other fanwork mediums are given word count equivalents, which you can view on the medium ruleset post.

Additionally:

Fic In A Box creators may default after partially filling their assignment — say, if they discover that they can only write 9k of fic — and PHs can be picked up in 1k increments! For this round of pinch hits, we will prioritize pinch hitters who want to pick up the full 10k, but if you want to pick up a lesser amount please still put your offer in, as there is no guarantee that all pinch hits will get 10k offers!
You may always swap all or part of your assignment for a PH, just let us know that's what you're doing when you post to claim the PH.
As per the swaps post, IPHs can be requested as a swap, although we'll prioritize IPHs picked up on this post and give them out to pinch hitters immediately — so you're less likely to swap for an IPH if you only request it as a swap and don't pick it up here.
After being assigned an IPH, both participant and non-participant pinch hitters have the option of heading over to the swaps post to offer some or all of their IPH wordcount for swaps. This is completely optional! Also, remember that swaps might not be possible, so don't pick up more wordcount than you think you can create for your IPH.
If you swap official assignment wordcount for IPH wordcount, we will assume you only want swaps taken out of your remaining official assignment wordcount unless you tell us otherwise. (So, if you swap for an IPH on this post, you won't accidentally give your IPH away when we finalize swaps.)

I love the contrast of Ajax's disdain for the gods vs Odysseus' close relationship with Athena and Achilles having different gods pop in and out of his life. Comfort sex? Hate sex? Angry sex? Adventures during the war, or Odysseus and Ajax showing Achilles the ropes at Aulis.
Agamemnon/Achilles - at Aulis, or in the early days of the war. Did they always dislike each other? Did Achilles turn on Agamemnon after the Iphigenia debacle? Or a darker take, where Agamemnon tries to enforce his kingship by claiming Achilles' body? Throughout the war, their increasingly deteriorating relationship as they cycle through grudgingly supporting each other, genuinely acknowledging that the other is needed, and absolutely despising each other, until finally it all breaks down over Calchas and Briseis?
Achilles/Apollo - Similar to above, a complicated relationship of want, worship/admiration, and hate. Going from Lovers to Enemies, or Allies (during Achilles' younger pre-Troy days) to Lovers to Enemies? A more equal dysfunctional relationship, with power plays and resentment (is Apollo a little jealous that Achilles can excel at Apollo's domains, like healing and music?), and lust. Or a darker version where Apollo rapes Achilles as revenge, or to break him before he can ever become the scourge of Troy. Maybe even before Achilles sets sail. Or maybe Apollo promises to spare Patroclus' life, if Achilles submits to him instead. Angry sex, hate sex, sweet sex that turns bitter in hindsight?
Achilles/Aeneas - These two have quite a bit in common (both sons of goddesses, both aware of the divine wills around them, both feel under-appreciated by Agamemnon and Priam, respectively), and have also had several one-on-one run-ins. Does Aeneas secretly resent that Achilles seems so much closer to Thetis, while Aeneas' mother Aphrodite is more distant and more in favor of Paris? Or does Aphrodite scheme to make Aeneas and Achilles fall for each other, as a way of ending the war and saving Troy?
Achilles & Priam - Conflict and character study, maybe interactions that take place either before or after the Iliad. I have nothing really specific here, beyond a need to see more of them together. Maybe early in the war before there's personal enmity, and Achilles is part of an embassy to negotiate with Troy? Maybe seeing each other again in the Underworld (awkward after Achilles' son kills Priam!).

Connor/Spike - I'd love to see them learn about each other! I think Spike would grudgingly like Connor, and get a kick out of learning that Angel and Darla had a child together. Connor and Spike learning to work with each other, maybe to help Angel or fight W&H, learning to trust each other, becoming friends and/or fuck buddies and/or developing a real romantic relationship. Anything! If platonic, maybe Connor has a crush on Dawn, and Spike is less than amused!
Connor/Dawn - I'd love to see how these two meet! Do they find each other in LA, or does Connor hook up with Dawn and the Scoobies after the big battle? How do they feel about finding someone with an even more convoluted backstory than their own? Commiserating over things like faked memories and alternate dimensions, and the weirdness of getting together after the whole Buffy/Angel saga.

Bahorel being the Protector of the group, deciding to throw in with Les Amis instead of one of the other groups he liaisons with, just the fact that the brawler is their ambassador to other cells. I'm up for happy revolutionary antics, getting together, hurt/comfort (physical or emotional), sexy angsty aftermath of 1830 or 1832 if they survive the barricade.
Enjolras /& the Amis - I'd be thrilled with friendship vibes or giant OT9 where everyone (or anyone in the Amis) takes Enjolras to bed. Do the Amis come back from the July Revolution of 1830 and just have a giant orgy? Does Enjolras give himself to his lieutenants, in an attempt to establish equality? Enjolras/Montparnasse; Enjolras/Patron-Minette - Enjolras needs ammunition, information, or manpower. Montparnasse or Patron-Minette can provide, for a price. Forming Rogue Squadron the first time? Or Wedge's reformation? Catching up after Endor? It would be great to see Wedge and Tycho supporting Luke after the Vader revelation, or them all leaning on each other during the war. Maybe Wedge and/or Luke helping Tycho recover after his ordeal with Lusankya, and going to bat for him against the Alliance/New Rep brass, or Luke helping to smooth things over after Wedge, Tycho, and the Rogues quit in order to go hunt Isard.
Luke/Talon Karrde - Anything with Luke trying to get Karrde to join the NR, or interacting with him during or after Myrkr. Karrde interested in Luke because Mara reacts so viscerally to him, and getting drawn closer and closer. On Myrkr, what if Karrde has to end up protecting Luke from his people or Mara or Imperials landing early, and ends up slowly falling for him?
Luke/Kam - I'm just really intrigued by their relationship. They have a deep respect for each other. Kam has the knowledge of the Old Jedi Order that Luke craves, and he relies on Kam quite a bit. Kam trying to help and/or comfort Luke during or after the Exar Kun fight, or them working together to build the Jedi Academy.
Corran/Luke - friendship and friends to lovers, coming to terms, resolving their differences in bed! Corran discovering or bringing out more of the old Rogue side to Luke? Does Luke let himself be more of a Rogue around Corran, and find a break from being the Jedi Master? How does Corran find his place in the New Jedi Order? (I don't mind if Corran and Mirax have an open relationship, or if they aren't together yet or at all.)
Luke /& Rogue Squadron - Luke interacting with the new Rogues under Wedge, maybe a mission that requires Rogues and Jedi. (Rogue Squadron here can be anyone from the OT and Legends-adjacent OT like Shadows of the Empire, or from the X-Wing Series.) I'd love to see anything with the Rogues banding around him after Bespin or Endor,
Luke/Mara - Growing closer and working together, or Mara trying to deal with her programmed hatred while Luke is very unconcerned about her death threat, or Luke bonding with Mara after she rescues him from C'Baoth. Or delving more into Mara finding out that Luke is Vader's son, maybe she ends up comforting or reassuring him, or telling him more about Vader.

Mon Mothma & Luke & Leia - I'd love Mon Mothma interacting with Luke and Leia! Does she know who they really are? If she does, how does she navigate their ignorance of their birth parents and their relationship to each other? If she doesn't, how does she react when they reveal everything? Luke/Boba - more straightforward enemies to lovers, whether Luke wants it or not! Luke feels guilty for not considering Boba a real person during the fight against Jabba, and gives his body as restitution? They bond or fight over their associations with Darth Vader? Casual sex turns into something more? Boba captures Luke and decides Luke will make for a nice plaything? Boba has something Luke needs, and demands sex as his payment? Luke gets hurt or captured and somehow Boba ends up caring for his one-time enemy, and feelings develop?
Din/Luke/Boba - just please sandwich Luke between two Mandalorians so they can all have fun times! Din and Boba as established couple, courting Luke together? Din taking it upon himself to get Luke and Boba to mend their differences and move forward from their pasts, and orchestrating all three of them falling into bed together? Darker Din and Boba as an established Power Couple, taking Luke as their prize? Enemies to Allies to Friends to More?

Either while Angel's in Sunnydale or later on being reunited, I'd love to see them rely on each other for some reason. How does Giles react to being rescued or helped by Angel, or how does he react if he has Angel's life in his hands, knowing how Buffy would feel if Angel died?
Giles & Wes - I love their conflict in S3, and would love to delve into that - Wesley's hidden insecurity at being thrown into a volatile situation on his first official assignment, warring with his natural belief that he's absolutely right in what he does. Giles' resentment at being replaced and his worry about what this means for Buffy. Learning to work together as they deal with a rogue Slayer. Or post-Wes leaving Sunnydale. What if Wes and Giles meet again, how does Giles deal with confident Wes?
Angel & Angel Investigations - any of the conflicts here as they try to make themselves a family. I'd love missing scenes of Angel, Cordelia, Wesley, and Gunn really getting to trust each other (or not ever fully trust each other!). Fallout after Faith's everything. Healing together during the summer between S1 and S2. Anything to do with S2 - how Angel feels about everyone's dismissal of his efforts to help Darla, or dealing with Darla's manipulation and violation of Angel, or what happens after Angel returns to AI. Or anything during S5, especially after everyone's memories of Connor return.
Angel Investigations & The Scooby Gang - I'm up for any characters here, and any time-frame, including post-canon. Angel and his group go to Sunnydale, and help against Glory? Giles visits Los Angeles to exchange books or other resources, and ends up helping against Wolfram and Hart? And maybe calling in Sunnydale backup? How does Xander react to Cordelia's visions or part-demonhood? Does Wesley turn to Giles, instead of Holtz, when he's concerned about Connor? Or you can break my heart and have Angel, Wes, and Cordy return to Sunnydale after Buffy's death. Does Buffy or Faith head to LA. and join in the final fight in Angel S5?

Luke and Baze/Chirrut - I'd love to see any interactions here! Especially after Bespin or before or after Endor. How does Baze feel as Luke develops into a Jedi? How excited is Luke to meet the Guardians? Are they equally excited to meet a new would-be Jedi, or are they more wary or sad? Baze and Chirrut mentoring Luke, maybe seeing Obi-Wan's ghost or Yoda's ghost, introducing him to the rest of Rogue One. Anything at all here!
Luke & Mace Windu - either Time Travel, or Mace Survives, or Force Ghost shenanigans? I'd just love to see them together! Mace guiding Luke, sparring, maybe Mace being able to come to terms with Anakin (or his feelings about Anakin) through interacting with and caring for Anakin's son? Post-Endor Luke travels back to PT time and gets to experience the Jedi Order whole and alive, and get comfort and support? Mace travels forward in time, and is horrified at what's happened to the galaxy and to his Order, and he and Luke find and support each other? Feel free to throw in Obi-Wan or Yoda or anyone else.
Luke & Creator's Choice of Jedi - I'd love Luke (either during the Rebellion or post-ROTJ) find another surviving Jedi, or time travel back to during the Clone Wars! I just want to see Luke get support and encouragement and comfort from another Jedi!

(I’ve only watched S1 and S2 as they killed almost all their characters off, so nothing after that. By all accounts S3 was a bit dull. I might watch S4, but I thought the end of S2 would have been a great place to leave the show, with them opening the door to go out into the “real” world.).
My DWN of "no excessive gore" and "no graphic descriptions of rape" might seem incompatible with "Canon typical violence" as this *is* Westworld, especially since the hosts have no choice but to enjoy sex with humans, and can't refuse to do anything. There's a grey area in there, so if in doubt, ask the Mods to ask.

Teddy, he seems to be one of those Hosts that will always end up screwed over, no matter what - it's the way his story was designed.
I don't ship Teddy with anyone, and I'm not averse to him / with anyone, although I found him and Dolores a bit dull. Him and Wyatt is interesting, and any form of relationship Teddy has with the MiB is bound to be more than a little bit twisted.

Ideas
The MiB is obsessed by Dolores, and so Teddy is his direct rival. Would he use Teddy against Dolores?
Wyatt seems to have been mostly forgotten about, but the idea that he was out there as a host is intriguing. What was his relationship with "Wyatt", how far did it go, how did it fit with "Dolores"? How did they meet (in the narrative), where they friends? What justification did Teddy give for Wyatt’s betrayal?
What about Teddy’s life as the sheriff, before everyone died.
Was he programmed for any other roles before he was the mysterious bounty hunter? Maybe between being sheriff and being the Teddy we see.
There was the new narrative that Ford was mapping out, what was it? What future scenarios might there have been?
The MiB trying to corrupt him might be interesting too, as he is set up as "the good guy".
What if Westworld goes offline and the Hosts are left to fend for themselves? What would Teddy have to do to survive?

And then there is all the possibilities that the computerised side of his nature might contain. - Programming errors, calibration, de-bugging, system error, blue screen of death. Teddy cycling through his loop, but his programming degrades each time round.

My favourite character is Mandrake. I’d prefer &s rather than /s but maybe the poor guy needs a bit of fun as well, but I’d prefer no Mandrake/Jedda

The canon-typical violence here can be stretched upwards a little, as it was a kids cartoon in the 80s and maybe needs a bit of updating.
And it’s probably a bit mean to say no K’shin or Zuffy, but they are just so annoying (in that 80s cartoon sidekick kind of way), so if you could find them something wholesome to do “off camera” that would be fantastic.

Something with him and Dynak X the supercomputer. Magic vs technology, similarities and differences. She would have a unique opinion about him and his skills. Would they be able to work together without any of the other defenders there too?
And talking of similarities and differences, what about Mandrake and Ming? How about Ming finding a way to “persuade” Mandrake to join his team? Or and AU where Mandrake does end up on the other side of the conflict for some reason?
Could they be persuaded to work together for some reason?
He’s keeper of the Crystal of Konos, so potential there for time shenanigans and other temporal fun. He’s also a Shadow Lord of huge power. What would he do if it all went horribly wrong? Would he turn “Strange-Supreme” and go on a rampage to set it right? How far would he really go?

My favourite character is Goosefat Bill. I don’t ship him with anyone, although I quite like the idea of him and Maggie, and the only / I don’t like is him and Bedivere, as they seem to be good friends more than anything more.

Sir William Wilson, member of Uther’s inner circle, and rebellion spy! He’s both, and he fits into both worlds. So how did a high-ranking court member end up a top-flight spy?
What was he like while Uther was alive, and how did he react to his death?
What was the personal cost to Bill for not cosying up to Vortigen?
I’d imagine he’d do what he had to do to be such a good spy, how does he actually feel about that? Him and Bedivere worked for years to find Arthur and try and protect the people. What sort of things did they have to do?
I kind of want to read a fic entitles “Bill and Bed’s Excellent Adventure”, just because it would be funny…
How did he end up in the brothel, what was that mission about?
How did he get his nickname?
How about something post-film film with Arthur and Bill in the Darklands fighting giant monsters?

Basically, anything. How helpful!
But there is so little in this fandom that anything about these two mages, or their world, would be amazing.
It is one of my all-time favourite games, and I could happily play it all day (and I have!). That’s part of the reason I need fic for it, I’ve played it so much and spent so much time thinking about it while playing that my brain demands answers. I have my own ideas, but I’d love to hear other people’s, especially since this is such a teeny weeny fandom.
The heroes showing up would be okay too, I don’t mind. The “in-character” part of my likes is more difficult, especially since you don’t get too much characterisation of any of them.

Wtf does Sumner do all day in his tower? He’s always there. He stands around and seems to do nothing.
Does he feel any guilt about dragging these heroes into his family problem.
And how does he get so many (basically infinite) power-ups for the heroes? Does he craft them?
And what does he do with all the gold he gets?
As he’s so powerful why did he need to drag the players into all of this?
And why doesn’t he just *tell* them where the runestones are? Why all the secrecy (obviously for the game, but in-universe…)
And why bother with all those crystals to open the doors, just what is going on in that tower???
Garm is his brother, what’s their story?
And how did Garm meet up with Skorne? Why did he betray the world?

Oh, one of my favourite parts isn’t even in the main game - when you quit and it goes “game over”, there is a short scene with Sumner at this podium and Skorne’s fist punches through the wall and pulls him away. I love it! And what an excellent starting point for a fic!

In canon, Michael has been blown up, tortured, brainwashed and drugged into attempting to kill his superior, all within the span of three years. That's got to leave a few demons, particularly ones that he's really not in a position where he can admit to them. PTSD? Nightmares? Perhaps some seriously unhealthy coping mechanisms? Caitlin's been through some things herself, including having a bomb strapped to her. I could easily see her picking up on there being something wrong with Michael. I'd love any sort of take on that, from a gen version up to and including kink (bondage, blood play, pain play?)

I'd also be up for any of the usual “get together” type tropes. Undercover as a couple? Trapped in a snowstorm? Etc.

If that's not your thing, how about some sort of fix-it fic for the way Michael is “transferred” and Caitlin simply disappears at the end of the third season? Any rating is fine. (If you choose to go this route, I'm okay with Dom and/or String being killed.)

I love the premise of this, and however you would like to expand on it would be great. Perhaps they need to deal with a balky piece of office equipment? I can just imagine what a disaster putting toner into the copier would be. Or, perhaps you would like to continue on from the “ending” where they were all out of a job because their company had gone bankrupt. Are they going on a quest filing for unemployment? Going on job interviews? Traveling in a car or on a plane?

I'm super easy to please so I'll likely be thrilled with anything focused on these boys as I think the relationships between these pairs are fascinating. I love the way Reo & Nagi's relationship has evolved over the course of the manga and would love to see something set in canon as they continue to discover how they fit together now that they're both growing and changing and want different things than they originally did. Something post-canon might also be cool. How Blue Lock changed them and continues to change them in the aftermath and whether they leave it as friends or rivals or strangers with a messy past full of baggage and how a relationship might build out of that, whether it be healthy or toxic or somewhere in between.
Bachira and Isagi are also really interesting to me in how they clicked right away and the interesting ways they see themselves in each other. LOOK. I am obsessed with Tougen Anki. It's one of my very favorite manga running primarily for the relationship dynamics. I find Shiki and Jin's evolving friendship endlessly fascinating and I would love to see anything that focuses on that and the way they've both continued to change and grow as characters and how much they genuinely care about each other almost in spite of themselves. I also really love Shiki's newfound and hard won friendship with Mikado. I'd love to see something mission focused that tested those bonds and allowed them to continue to change and evolve. Or Shiki and Mikado becoming pen pals. Or finding opportunities to meet and just be teenagers and go to the movies or the arcade or hang out. I'd love to see Shiki drag Jin out to do anything of those things as well, because inevitably Jin has never had a chance to do anything like that due to the circumstances of his childhood. I'd equally love to see how those relationships would continue to develop as Momo and Oni tensions continue to rise and the fighting between those factions continue as they get older. I'd be equally into future fic that explored the world as it continues to change around them all and how oni and momo relations might continue to change. I absolutely loved the Sandman TV show and pretty much everything about it. :DDD I had come in expecting to be super picky about how it did as an adaptation of the comics, but it absolutely nailed it and almost every change actually improved upon the source material, at least for me.
One of the big changes that made me super happy was the slight finessing of the Dream/Calliope relationship to be a little more like people who used to be in love and still love each other a little and have this thousand year old grief between them that they haven't resolved and are maybe ready to resolve now. I loved it so, so, so much and now I am absolutely dying for any fic of them together. Seriously, anything! Flashbacks to how they met, how they fell in love, when she told him she was pregnant, when she had the baby, what parenting together is like when you're two immortal beings (and maybe the emotional intricacies of what it's like when you're two immortal beings with a mortal child), or what that final confrontation was like after they lost him. Or! Anything post-canon! Calliope wanted to visit him in the Dreaming and try to grieve their son together. What would it be like if she did? (And, if you're into that, can it involve them having goodbye sex 1,000+ years late?)
I am also interested in fic about Calliope herself! What did she think of humans before her captivity, and what does she think of them after? What has grieving her son been like? What are/were her relationships like with her child, with the other Endless (especially Death and Desire!), the other muses, or any of the members of Dream's Realm, like Lucienne? What would it be like if she met someone like Unity, Rose, Lady Johanna, Modern Johanna, or at any point in his history, the Corinthian? And of course, you are welcome to explore her relationship with people from the comics who haven't shown up on the show yet and I'd love that, too. (Ishtar! :DDD!)
And speaking of the Corinthian: I have so many freaking questions about the Cereal Convention. How do they vet the attendees to make sure they are who they say they are? How long have they been doing the convention? How did the convention even get started??? I'll take anything you got! And while media fic (you know, with fake tweets and Reddit posts and such?) is not usually my favorite genre, this actually sounds like a fic where that might be fun.
DNWs: While you can reference Calliope's rape/captivity, I don't want to see it directly depicted, and I don't want to see the actual torture/murder of any of the conventioneers' victims, ESPECIALLY not Funland's. Also please no character death for requested characters.

Watching the show made me reread the comics and rekindled some old desires and activated some new ones! :DDD
Brief Lives was always my favorite volume of The Sandman, and Destruction is a large part of why. I just love him. (Well, okay. I don't love that he set traps to kill his friends and ex if his family ever came looking for him. But other than that!)
I'm really interested in the relationship between Destruction and Ishtar. All we really know about it is that Dream thought she was a bad influence on him. So why? How does a love goddess go about being a bad influence on the personification of Destruction? And does it have anything to do with his desire to be creative, in spite of the obvious reasons he never can be?
I'm also just plain interested in their romance, so however you wanna tackle that, go for it. :D?
And of course, given my very renewed interest in Calliope, I am now very interested in what the relationship between Calliope and Ishtar- the wives of two of the Endless- might have been like. I don't know that the timeline works out for Calliope to have been with Dream at the same time that Ishtar was with Destruction- although maybe it does, it's not super clear, and if you wanted to paint a picture (literally or with words!) of the two of them hanging out around the rest of the family, I'd be into that! But I would also love to see them meeting up post-Dream Country, with Calliope coming to see Ishtar either by accident or on purpose.
Okay, all of the things that I wanted for Dream/Calliope in my show prompts, I still want here. /o\ Their meeting, their love story, their breakup. But I would also really, really love to see them as parents, especially since we only ever got to for like two pages at Orpheus' wedding. Also...I love Five Things That Never Happened fics, and I would love to see one of those in the form of Dream looking at (or showing Calliope or Orpheus, maybe?) different lives they could've had, if Eurydice hadn't died or if Orpheus hadn't decided to go after her.
I love all things Endless, and all of them as characters. Death, Dream, Destruction, and Delirium are my favorites, but I love them all, and I would love something that explored each of them and all of the different relationships they have with each other, especially the relationships we don't see as much in canon, like Death and Desire, Death and Delirium, Death and Destruction, Death and Despair, Dream and Despair, EVERYONE and Destiny. (I have never met a person who has Destiny as their favorite, or seen much fic focused on him. It honestly makes me feel bad for him. /o\)
I would love to see them in little paired off segments (Five Things fic!) or as a group at family occasions, like Dream and Calliope's wedding or when Orpheus was born or the time Delirium got engaged and it didn't work out or when Destruction called the family together to tell them he was quitting to go be an artist. Or other things like that! I'd love to see a mix of both happy occasions and sad occasions!
I opted into art for this one. I love fanart a lot and would dig some of these scenes as illustration instead! I also specifically put "Adaptation Concept Art" because I would love to see your take on some of these characters or events and how they might look on the show, especially if it comes with your fancasting preferences.
DNW: I'd still prefer to avoid rape, partner or child abuse, torture of any kind, and character death.

I did not expect to fall in love with this show, but a bunch of my friends were talking about it, so I gave it a shot, and bam! Instant new favorite! If we matched on something else and it's not grabbing you, this is only an eight-episode series, so it is very easy to binge, and very, very fun. I love every character on it, though I have a special love for Vigilante. He's kind of like if you mixed together Rorschach from Watchmen and Troy from Community. It is absolutely bonkers and shouldn't work, but it really does and I love him so, so much. And his devotion to Peacemaker is extra perfect. :DDDDD
So of course I would love any Peacemaker/Vigilante fic you can think of. They canonically sleep with women together sometimes (see below on Amber Calcaterra), so how often does that happen and whose idea is it? (And how much of it is because Vigilante and Peacemaker are both a bit bad at feelings?) Peacemaker is also canonically bi with a history of sleeping with men, so does Vigilante know about that, and does he maybe get jealous? Alternately, Peacemaker frequently downplays how much Vigilante means to him, so how would he handle it if Vigilante started seeing someone else? Or- worse- if Vigilante started considering a new best friend? Or, if you'd be more into straightforward friends to lovers, I'd be into that, too! And that's just scratching the surface, really. I love tropey stuff like "there was only one bed" or "undercover in a BDSM club" or "fake dating for a mission" or "sex pollen/aliens made them do it (but they really wanted to all along)" or "accidental soulbonding that's really annoying until it's suddenly hot" and whatnot. This is one time where I wouldn't hate mpreg (Vigilante wants to experience motherhood!). I also would love something that took advantage of the bonkers tone of the canon and characters in question that I'm just not thinking of here! A friend of mine once proposed a Death Note AU that isn't really a Death Note AU- Vigilante just tries to convince Peacemaker he has a Death Note so he can kill the people on Peacemaker's wishlist and everyone sees through it but Peacemaker. It doesn't have to be that (although I would enjoy it!), but zany shit like that would be so fun!
Vigilante/Peacemaker/Amber is actually canon and it has been haunting me since the episode where they had their threesome: how the actual fuck did this happen? We never see Amber and Vigilante meet, and most of Peacemaker's meeting with her involves him being obviously uncomfortable with her fighting with her husband while he's taking them both hostage. So what was the story there? And while we never see the three of them together again after their threeway, what kind of relationship might they be secretly conducting? (I very much enjoy the idea that Vigilante is just constantly chilling on her balcony trying badly to be romantic while her husband wants to know when and why this became his life.)
So okay, weird confession time: I love Rick Flag from the two Suicide Squad movies. In the first, he was just kind of your standard issue military jerk who didn't want to be there becoming grudgingly fond of the criminals he was in charge of, but had a spark of something that made him interesting to me: namely, Waller chose him to be June Moone/Enchantress' handler specifically because she wanted him to fall in love with her...which sort of implies that Rick has unwisely fallen in love with his asset before. Add on to that that he has clearly become real friends with the Squad in the second movie (he risks all their lives to rescue Harley because he refuses to leave her behind!) and suddenly I have this weird Dark Horse favorite that no one else is particularly into.
I told you all that so I could tell you that I got a little thrill every time Peacemaker was upset about killing Rick Flag, or that the show mentioned Flag at all, and I would deeply love to read a Winter Soldier AU involving him. Mainly because that's where I thought the movie was going in the first place when they had a post-credits scene with a mysterious someone in a hospital bed and then that someone turned out to be Peacemaker himself. /o\ Yes, I am also prompting this for Suicide Squad, but I think it could be fun to have Peacemaker as the one reacting to that, and someone else had nominated Rick Flag & Christopher Smith and put the idea into my head!

Okay, so of the first wave of Disney+ shows, WandaVision was the one I was the least excited for, and then it turned out to be (IMO) the best one. As it turns out, the fandoms that tend to really grab on are the ones where I was skeptical or had low expectations that then turn up all my feels to eleven. Wanda and Vision in particular were characters I was mostly indifferent to in the movies (except in Infinity War- I did love them there), and the show just went and made me completely ride or die for them, both as characters and as a ship. (Also another short canon worth trying if we matched on something else but you're not into my prompts for it! Only eight episodes, and most of them are thirty minutes!)
So I want all the emotional missing scenes of Wanda/Vision between Civil War and Infinity War that you can think of. /o\ I could go for more of him being there for her after her twin died, or the first time they saw each other after she buried him hundreds of feet underground, or when they started sneaking around, or her teasing him about what he chose for his human form, or what conversation(s) led to Vision deciding to build her a house, especially with the specific note "Somewhere to grow old together." I just want their romance. ;____;
Also: White Vision! Holy heck, I am hoping that goes somewhere good for both of them, but it's going to be years before we ever find out! ;___; Pre-Multiverse of Madness, I would be very into him hanging around Wanda's Sokovian sadness cabin and quietly having identity issues and "I'm a new being who remembers being in love with you" issues while she lets him stay because even just getting to hear his voice and see a similar face is better than nothing. Super optional (I have been trying to avoid giving details this specific!), but I would love it if this included him remembering where Vision left/lost an engagement ring for Wanda and bringing it to her because he knows it's important but he doesn't, emotionally speaking, remember why. Like he knows what the ring is for and what original Vision was going to ask her and that it was a big deal to him, but he can't access the feelings Vision felt or what it was like to feel them. Or, post-Multiverse of Madness, if you saw that: what if Wanda goes to him when she's emotionally worn down and barely alive after her injuries and losses on Wundagore? What happens for them next? Either way, I am down for this being just endless sadness or robot learns to love with a happy ending. It's really up to you.
I will die mad about the whole Fietro thing, so I am stubbornly pretending that didn't happen. If you want to indulge me there, I am very interested in fun, silly fic about the relationship between Vision and Peter during their time in the Hex. Just Vision reacting to this suspicious stranger claiming to be his wife's brother despite looking nothing like him, but whose ulterior motives seem to be...sleeping on their couch, eating all their food, and getting their children hopped up on candy and silly string. They established early that we don't see every WandaVision "episode" that was made in-universe, so I feel there is plenty of offscreen potential to explore!
I loved the fan theory that it was the real Peter Maximoff and he was Jimmy's person in WITSEC in Westview. I loved it so much that I was deeply disappointed when it didn't pan out and would now love fic of that, and of Peter and Jimmy doing criminal witness/FBI handler things. I would love something like a White Collar-style casefic with the two of them as reluctant partners, or just fun scenes of Jimmy putting up with Peter. (I love Peter, but I feel like 90% of other characters' reactions to him are Putting Up With Peter.) Friends, lovers, friends-to-lovers, up to you! :D?
Also, after everything that happened after WandaVision and Multiverse of Madness...I would really, really love to read something about the descent of Wanda. :( Just her withdrawing to nowhere, studying and being slowly corrupted by the Darkhold, and dreaming over and over again of her children eternally out of her reach and how it broke her enough to make her the villain in her own story. Just to make it extra depressing, I'm sure Wanda would have started out from the more innocent place of "I'll just find an alternate universe to go to where I can be with my family!" and must have seen some shit while spying on her kids' alternates to push her to a much darker place than that. (I think it's telling, for example, that the first thing she says when asked why is, "What if they get sick?" That's so weirdly specific!)

I already wrote about this pretty extensively in my Peacemaker details, but just to recap: I love Rick Flag from the two Suicide Squad movies. So actually, I am very interested in your ideas for Rick's pre-Suicide Squad life! Especially his pre-Suicide Squad love life, and any CIA assets he had previously fallen in love with against his better judgment. This is something where I would love to see some bonkers surprise crack pairings, like he once dated [insert obscure or random DC character here] (think the revelation in Justice League Dark that John Constantine dated King Shark), or crossover pairings, from any of my requested fandoms or some wild fandom I've never heard of that leapt to your mind when you read this prompt! I'm open to het, slash, or (if you wanted to do "fell into a vat of toxic waste and became woman-shaped for a couple weeks" or something similar) femslash-like. In comedic and comics fandoms, my threshold for silly and/or weird stuff is pretty high, so go for broke!
Alternately, if you wanted to do something relatively chill and normal (or for that matter, angsty and sad- not everyone likes to write funny stuff!), I am actually interested in Rick/June and the "doomed romance with a woman who is possessed by a terrifying entity that she can't control" is ripe for it. I don't feel like it was built up very strongly in the first movie, so you have room to make their dynamic and story whatever you want it to be! I don't ship it yet, but I am an easy mark, so please- go ahead and break my heart.
Re: Rick & Squad Members: This is the kind of request where I would love a highlights reel, or a Five Things or Five +1 Things or just ten separate 1k fics with a different squad member in each one. I would be down for just a whole bunch of bits featuring Rick and any members of the Squad you fancy! This one is basically dealer's choice and I would love to be surprised, but some examples of things I'd love there include: Flag going to Harley for emotional support after breaking up with June (and if you want to incorporate Birds of Prey canon, maybe meeting Cass and suggesting Harley try *not* raising her to be a career criminal), Boomerang asking Flag for bail money because everyone else he knows is an unreliable criminal, Flag mediating an argument between Killer Croc and Nanaue, shooting range bonding with Deadshot, or ANY of his prior history with Bloodsport.
For Rick and Harley, a reaction I legitimately had to watching TSS was, "Wait, Flag and Harley are honest-to-goodness friends? Like go off mission to save each other's lives and then hug for a surprisingly long time and then be upset when the other one dies kind of friends? *___*" So I'd really love to read a fic that kind of bridges the gap between SS and TSS re: the Rick Flag and Harley Quinn relationship. What brings them together? How do they spend time together when they're not actively on missions? (If they do- I'd buy that it's just that they've been on a lot of missions together, and I'd be interested in one or more of those!) I'm down for this either as one singular plot- How Flag And Harley Saved The World And Became Best Friends That One Time In Kahndaq- or as a bunch of different scenes of them meeting up on and/or off mission for five years.
Or (and you knew it was coming back): the Winter Soldier AU. You know that they teased the audience with "Someone's not really dead- who could it be?" and then it was Peacemaker. I hope that I wasn't the only one who was expecting Flag to be on the table, getting modified, enhanced, and generally tortured/brainwashed into an evil super soldier. Otherwise my desire to read fic where that is the case and Harley has a lot of feelings and reacts in a very dramatic action movie hero fashion is going to be awkward. :D?

Farscape. *___* I was, I think, 14 when this show came out, but it has long stuck with me as one of my favorites. I love things that can handle both goofy, silly stories and serious heartrending ones, and Farscape did that kind of thing CONSTANTLY. I don't love that everything from my childhood is being mined for nostalgia dollars these days, but I would make an exception for Farscape. (Ben Browder and Claudia Black stayed hot for twenty years when they didn't have to, O'Bannon! Where is my spinoff?!)
So for one, I would absolutely love to see something with John and Aeryn as parents. With their infant D'Argo as we last saw him in PK Wars, or with an older version as time goes by! Or taking the long view and doing both! This is something where I see a lot of potential for sentimental sweet stuff (which I love, and especially love with characters where you wouldn't necessarily have predicted that, like Aeryn) or ridiculous lolzy stuff (these two, with a child, my goodness) or even some sad stuff (Aeryn never had parents and John will never see his again ;____;). There are 900 potential directions to take this and I would love just about any.
Okay, so this one is actually really challenging. /o\ "Who the fuck is Katrana?" is a pretty justifiable question. Katrana is the name given (in a short story and series of comics written post-series by Rockne S. O'Bannon that I've never actually read) to John's daughter with Princess Katralla in the Look At The Princess three parter in season two. Which means that in this prompt, I am asking for John and Aeryn's son, who was only ever shown in canon as a baby, and John's daughter who was going to gestate with her mother in suspended animation and not be born for the next hundred years and therefore was never even born onscreen. This is basically an original fic request! Yes. Yes, it is. /o\
I am interested in what the next generation in Farscape would be like, and I never really felt like I got sufficient closure on the loose end that Katrana represents. So I would be super into a story that lets John's two children meet, as either teens or adults, and lets them get into trouble the way that we all know two children of John Crichton absolutely would. I would also love for John, Aeryn, and any of the other original series characters you like to be there, but I recognize this is a very tall order as it is.

I had a weird dream once that it had become a huge trend in GoT fandom to write AUs where Tyrion and Cersei were twins instead of Cersei and Jaime and change LITERALLY NOTHING ELSE and in the dream, I was confused and mad about it, because the reason it had had happened in the dream was that there had been one good fic that really tackled the characterization changes of if Cersei's twin was a "dwarf freak" while the baby brother who killed her mother was nonetheless super hot and super into her and none of the imitators in the trend understood what had made that first fic so good. So now in waking life, I'm kind of wondering: wait, what would that fic actually be like? If Tyrion is Cersei's twin but still a dwarf, and Jaime is the younger brother their mother died giving birth to, how does that change up the dynamics? How differently do their childhoods and young adulthoods play out? And how does it change how Tywin treats them all? You don't have to rewrite their whole lives, just pick a moment in media res that has a feel that answers some of these questions. :D? (Or, you know. Five Things fic!)
Yeah, okay, this is my first of two incest asks. /o\ But I really would love fic where Jaime and Cersei go to King's Landing during the Targaryens' reign and sit through a really uncomfortable dinner where some Targ or other talks a lot about why sisterfucking is the best and they decide to test it. I would also love it if there was a lot of UST up to that point between them.
My second incest ask. I would be very into a post-finale AU where Jaime and Cersei survive and the baby is real, but their relationship is more fractured than ever. I love bitter exes to lovers as a trope, and I think that would be the main thing I'd be wanting here. If pregnancy/babyfic/kidfic is not your thing, you can just have it turn out to have been a lie, that's fine! I'd just rather not have miscarriage/stillbirth/infant death.
I would actually love some Oberyn/Ellaria history fic. How did they meet? How did they come to be in a long-term relationship that he doesn't seem to have had with any of his other daughters' mothers? What was it like for Ellaria when they collected his older daughters? What role did Ellaria have in their lives as children? Judging by the actresses' ages (yes, I know they're older in the books), Obara would have been six and Nymeria four when Tyene was born, and Obara had said she was very young when Oberyn decided to bring her home to Sunspear. How did all of this play out? Basically, pick a point in Oberyn and Ellaria's relationship and give me their romance and/or some family feels, please? :D?
I would be super into a wildly AU thing where Dany ends up queen of Westeros and Jorah ends up at the Wall, like he was always supposed to. She comes to visit him once a year. UST, pining, and noble suffering galore ensue, and maybe eventually ends in romance...or maybe they just bang it out once and never speak of it again. Surprise me. :D?

DS9 has been my favorite Trek since I was like 12. I love it so much, and I'm excited to ask for fic for it for the first time!
Quark/Grilka was my very first Trek ship, and is still the only Quark ship I can buy into. But they got together and then she just disappeared, never to be mentioned again! I would love to see some follow-up on their relationship and how it evolved after their hookup in Looking for par'Mach in All The Wrong Places. You can give me anything here and I'd take it, as long as neither of them die!
Alexander/Ziyal is something I tricked myself into shipping and explaining how I even got there is very hard, even though I've wanted this since I was a child. /o\ But let's start with the fact that I am very annoyed about the paucity of alien4alien ships in canon! After that, the fact that they happen to be the same generation/roughly the same age appealed to me. They've both lost their mothers and have fraught relationships with their fathers. They're both hybrids who don't fit in properly with their parents' societies. They both struggle with feeling like they don't belong and it makes me sad and want them to have an understanding partner. It would amuse me personally to see Worf shit himself because his son is dating Gul Dukat's daughter. And if this had happened instead of Ziyal/Garak, Ziyal might not have died and Bashir/Garak could've been on. It's win/win for everyone! I don't know how to make it happen, writer, but if you do, I will love you. <3
I am actually really interested in Dukat/Naprem and what that relationship was like. Not to mention Naprem as a character about whom we only know three things: she had an affair of 13+ years with Dukat, she gave their daughter a Cardassian name, and she wore a pledge bracelet to identify herself to others as being in a relationship. Was she a collaborator just doing what she had to do to get by in a society being crushed under the Cardassians' heels? Was she a peacenik who thought they could make friends with the Cardassians, trying to act as an ambassador? Was she a spy who was supposed to kill him and fell in love instead? I'd take any of these, or any other ideas you might have! It's okay if she's naive and too good for this sinful universe if you'd rather, and it's also okay if she's unlikeable and it's a romance between two callous individuals. My only DNW here is that while I know it is very, very plausible that their relationship did not begin consensually, I would rather that wasn't the case.
The relationship between Dukat and his wife is another one that really intrigues me. I think that a lot of the draw of it is the same as the draw with Naprem- it's a complete canonical vacuum that I'd like to fill. What kind of woman loves Dukat??? It's even more surprising with Athra, because she was married to him for like fifty years and seven children, and soldiered through it even when he lived on Bajor without her for like fifteen or twenty years. The straw that broke her back was him having a half-Bajoran daughter and bringing her to Cardassia. So what is she like? And what is he like with her?

What If remains to this day one of the best surprise pleasures I got in 2021. I don't think there was a single episode I didn't love, and the way it changed how I looked at some of my ships and characters was honestly refreshing. So of course, I am absolutely famished for more.
In case my WandaVision prompts didn't make it clear, I am insane about them as a couple, and I would be so, so stoked to get something for this even more dark and depressing version of my OTP than they already were. I would really love something that explores how Wanda and Vision ended up with him trying to take care of the zombified version of her because he can’t let her go. Up to and including feeding people to her just to keep this last piece of her alive, just to find some way for them to keep going until he can find a cure, and what it’s like for him when she’s both too powerful for him to beat and too far gone to cooperate with his research into restoring her.
Alternately, what is her point of view like as a zombie? We know from the episode that she’ll fight him to keep him from trying to cure her, but she won’t hurt or kill him. We know that she’s able to break loose and command the full power of the Mind Stone and her magic to attack and eat whenever she wants, but that she seems to hang around Camp Lehigh, letting him restrain her and feed her. And we know that even as a zombie, she was cognizant of what it was/what it meant when he died, and super upset about it. So how does she feel? What does she think? What can she remember, and how does that affect her?
I have less than zero idea how you’d fix the situation of Wanda’s a zombie and Vision’s killed himself by tearing the Mind Stone out of his head, but if you have ideas on how to fix it, I’m really curious to see that.
Or, going the other way, if you’re into the idea of something very sad and very, very dark involving Zombie Wanda trying to take care of Vision’s corpse like he took care of her while she tries, in her own zombie way, to get the Mind Stone back so she can fix him, I’d be really into that, too.
In a nutshell, what I’m really hoping for here is angst, horror, and OTP feels. :D?
When I asked for worldbuilding here, I'm gonna level with you: the thing I wanted most was like an MCU version of World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War. I would take anything that even approximates that, especially if it can have POVs (singular or plural!) from any MCU characters we didn't see in the actual episode. Or POVs of characters in the episode whose story wasn't given a lot of screentime. (Scott. WHAT ON EARTH IS SCOTT'S STORY IN THIS FREAKING UNIVERSE AFTER HE WAS ATTACKED BY HANK BUT BEFORE IT WAS REVEALED VISION WAS KEEPING HIM AS A TALKING HEAD IN A JAR?! Or poor T'Challa! How did he end up at Camp Lehigh in the first place? Did Vision cure him, only to then start serving him to Wanda as food? DDD: )
Feel free to give voices to comics characters that have never made it to the movies/TV shows here, or even to make OCs from the city governments or Stark Industries or among the Dora Milajae. Honestly, the more POVs you can work in, the better. (Seriously. World War Z.)
So now that I talked a lot about What If...Zombies?!, let's talk Captain Carter and Steve Rogers a little bit.
It may seem weird to nominate them in What If The Watcher Broke His Oath, instead of What If Captain Carter Was The First Avenger, but I swear there is method to the madness. Because the universe that the Watcher pulls Captain Carter from there seems to be in the middle of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which is pretty solidly one of my very favorite movies in the entire MCU, and I would freaking love to have seen the rest of it. Especially because, by the end, it is pretty strongly implied that the Winter Soldier in this universe is not Bucky, but Steve.

I have a huge weakness for "my friend/loved one has been tortured into a super efficient and ruthless villain who doesn't remember me until I try to bring them back by appealing to their feelings" as a trope (shocking) and really just want to indulge in Peggy being very upset about this and then trying to save him.
You don't have to rewrite the entire movie, but a short version or highlights reel like an actual What If episode does would be so awesome.

I love crossovers. LOVE them. And I missed the sign-ups for crossover_exchange this year, so here's a bunch of stuff I was going to ask for in that! (And some stuff that came out afterwards that I would've been very sad to have to wait a year to ask for!)

My daughter is a much bigger DC fan than I am (contrary to what my sign-up looks like) and when I showed her the Keanu Constantine for the first time, I told her it would be better for her sanity if she accepted before we started that it was about Constantine's American cousin with similar problems, and honestly, the idea that all three of them are cousins who don't know about each other until they meet for the first time is hilarious to me. If that's too silly, though, the idea of them as multiversal variants of each other meeting because something something Crisis of Infinite Earths also sounds super cool. :D?
My favorite grim reapers in all of fiction are Discworld Death, Sandman Death, and Bill & Ted Death. So I would love to read the three of them interacting because reasons. Reaper convention? An insane neutron star is about to collapse and spread madness across the multiverse? Delirium stuck gum in the pages of Destiny's book and abrupted reality? You decide! And if this can involve shipping Discworld Death/Sandman Death, I would be very much into that.
I don't have plot ideas for Andy and Mary, sorry. /o\ But it's two heroic immortal women who've been touched by the supernatural both played by Charlize Theron! SOMETHING has to be going on there! And, okay, maybe I am just a little bit hoping to read Charlize/Charlize. /o\ This can be as short or long, as serious or goofy, as plotty or plotless as your heart desires. You CANNOT go wrong.
The interactions between Tobey!Peter and Andrew!Peter in No Way Home are some of my favorite parts of that movie. And the only worthwhile thing to come out of me seeing Morbius is that I know it is officially canon that not everyone was sent back to the correct universe at the end of NWH. So I would really, really love to read Andrew!Peter getting sent back to the Raimiverse and being taken in by Tobey!Peter and Dunst!MJ, with friends to lovers OT3 and a lot of Harry grief and Gwen grief for the three of them to work through together.

I actually really liked Multiverse of Madness, but I do mourn the House of M movie we didn't get. So I would love it if Wanda, in her dreamwalking travels, managed to meet with Lorna and Peter (and, if you fancy it, either of the two movieverse Magnetos). This is something where I would love to get something longer, darker, and more serious...but I would also love to just see what happens when Lorna and Peter see her in their nightmares and just somehow know she's their sister.
I sometimes feel bad when I post a short prompt in a sign up with longer ones, because I feel like it looks like I didn't put as much thought into it and maybe don't want it as much. I mention this only because my Brooklyn Nine Nine/Labyrinth crossover prompt is not detailed, but I assure you, it is one of my favorites I've ever come up with and I would love to see it: Jake wishes Cheddar into the labyrinth. This comes from a Tumblr post I saw reblogged a bunch and can't find now. What if Eddie Brock is meeting up with Hannibal for journalist reasons, and it's all a little weird but fine right up until Hannibal makes them dinner- and Eddie and Venom know for a fact that they're being served human? I would love something a bit plotty here, where Eddie has to keep Venom on a (metaphorical) six-inch leash to keep him from just eating Hannibal and calling it a day while he tries to investigate exactly where Hannibal's sourcing his meat from, and perhaps who else they might have to save from Hannibal before it's too late. Buuuut I would also love a single scene of Eddie trying to keep Venom contained while Venom is bouncing around like a chihuahua and Hannibal just watches them curiously, pretending not to notice and plotting murder.
