Initial Pinch Hits

Pinch hits are participants who are without creators; pinch hitting is the practice of volunteering to make a gift for a pinch hit. These pinch hits are all due on October 10 at 11:59 EDT (countdown).

Fic In A Box has a very unusual set of assignment requirements: everyone is owed (and is asking for) 10k of fanfiction, which by default can be given as one 10k+ fic or several 1k+ fics. Participants have also had the option to opt-in to other minimum lengths or to other formats of fanwork. The other fanwork mediums are given word count equivalents, which you can view on the medium ruleset post.

Additionally:

Fic In A Box creators may default after partially filling their assignment — say, if they discover that they can only write 9k of fic — and PHs can be picked up in 1k increments! For this round of pinch hits, we will prioritize pinch hitters who want to pick up the full 10k, but if you want to pick up a lesser amount please still put your offer in, as there is no guarantee that all pinch hits will get 10k offers!
You may always swap all or part of your assignment for a PH, just let us know that's what you're doing when you post to claim the PH.
As per the swaps post, IPHs can be requested in the Assignments Swap period, although we'll prioritize IPHs picked up on this post and give them out to pinch hitters immediately — so you're much, much less likely to swap for an IPH if you only request it on the swaps post.
After being assigned an IPH, both participant and non-participant pinch hitters have the option of heading over to the swaps post to offer some or all of their IPH wordcount for swaps. This is completely optional! Also, remember that swaps might not be possible, so don't pick up more wordcount than you think you can create for your IPH.

The amount of wordcount you would like to claim (even if you're going to do fanart or some other non-fic opt-in medium, just convert it for us!)
The exact username of the AO3 account you will be posting your fill(s) from (if you post from a different account from the one you give us, we won't be able to count the PH as filled unless you update us!)

Aww, I adore everybody in this crazy and amazing show, and I wouldn’t mind at all the inclusion of possible background characters and ships. I really love the time travel aspect of it and the space travel parts too, and the fact that they’re time fixers that mean well but fuck up a lot, and try to undo their mistakes. I love that they travel (and live all together as a dysfunctional family) on a sentient ship.
But I miss so much Mick and Ray’s interactions of the early seasons, and any story bringing that back, and adding romance to it, would make me so happy! Their canon slow burn friendship’s growth was a personal favorite element of the show. I loved to see how they changed: from the very beginning, when they unfriendly teased each other and were mutually unhappy to be members of the same team; to Mick's finally offering Ray to become his partner. That was one of my most cherished developments of the show. I loved to see my favorite dorks to banter or have rare but deep discussions, worry over one another on the battlefield, having each other’s backs, and above all being super-shippy, and it’d be nice for any of that to be included in the fic. I love all the get together tropes at all!!! Any work featuring them would bring me joy!
Here below are some story related prompts (but if they're helpful for non-story related opt-ins feel free to use them! Otherwise feel free to ignore them), but if my prompts aren't useful there's no need to stick to them, an unprompted idea or plot focusing on my ship in a slow burn-y/romantic/hurt-comforty way would be great too.
I’m a sucker for angsty hurt/comfort stories, and a long fic (or some shorter fics) or a comic etc. entirely about hurty with eventual comfort scenarios would make me soooo happy too! Injured during a mission and getting stranded in a dangerous zone, stuck under a crushed building and one’s severely hurt and the other tries to keep him alive, almost drowning, or dying and being mourned but coming back from death due to magic or time travel, noncon and recovery, zombies again but different, survival in captivity until when they manage to escape, self-sacrifice of either and guilt of the uninjured other one who was meant to get hurt instead, Mick does a time jump to prevent Ray from being tortured or killed, or either is stuck in a loop of trauma, until the happy ending is what it gets them unstuck …. Any scenario at all! Maybe, as a bonus, the ordeal helps them to grow closer, or reveals their mutual feelings, or makes them fall in love with one another.
More prompts I can think of: definitely opting-it to mpreg too (including the canon scenario, if you wish to use it for a Ray/Mick story). Opting-in to theesome with a self-cest side, or a v-shaped romance: for example, what if S2 remnant!Mick survives and stays on the Waverider, and there’s v-shaped romantic/sexual tension now that Ray spends time with the other Mick, and both Micks become jealous of one another? Eventual threeway romance or v-shaped romance are bot fine.
Amnesia tropes, and absolutely all the accidentally/arranged marriage tropes, are also welcome!

The main characters’ dysfunctional dynamic and slowly built bond is a big draw for me, and I’d absolutely love anything I requested for this fandom! A written story, a comic, any of the opt-ins.... any of them would make me so happy!!!

Some general likes/tropes:
- hurt/comfort with bed rest, helping to bath/shave/bandage, etc. Hipothermia or other hug for warmth h/c tropes, like snowed in and there’s only one bed?
- captivity and torture themes? Hurt!character’s POV is often a favourite. What if eventually he’s broken/failed to protect, or he thinks he failed, but he’ didn’t? If Brody is the captive, David to the rescue please.
- I love trauma recovery fic, especially torture/noncon/serious injury recovery scenarios; dealing with PTSD with love interest’s aid. Maybe, what if hurt!character looks for ways to get comfort from unaware love interest by initiating sex with them? That proving to be a bad idea when a flashback ruins things, or maybe their love interest sees through him and manages to help in a healthier manner?

DS9 and Garak/Bashir are among my forever beloved canons and ships! The compelling worldbuilding, the shades of gray of an utopia, including the section 31, the politics, the interactions of so many non-human species, the narrative arcs.
I really enjoy to read about Garak’s layers of deception, his dark past, his growth after his exile (or after Bashir happened?) despite it all, and there’s no wishful thinking that could make him go back to the same ruthless ways as an agent under Tain’s thumb. I really love Bashir’s easy enthusiasm, his caring nature and his love for secrecy and spies - when it leaves the happy fantasy realm, he drastically changes and there’s all this angst about him when his augmentation secret comes out, all of it was great!
Garak and Bashir’s word sparring during the show is a thing of joy. I'd love more of the seduction games, where Julian is possibly unaware of Garak doing it but eventually he gets it; and all the spy stories involving them! I'm feeling pretty "give me anything!" for this ship, but I will try to give some prompts too.
Here are some story related prompts, if they're helpful for non-story related opt-ins feel free to use them! Otherwise feel free to ignore them, there's no need to stick to them. Any unprompted idea or plot focusing on my ship in a slow burn-y/romantic/hurt-comforty/etc. way would be great too.
Flirting, banter, Cardassian courtship at the replimat with confused witnesses, and then in the privacy of either’s quarters; courting Garak and oblivious Julian, or vice versa. Missing scenes during their shared captivity on the gamma quadrant prison. After being separated for a while, finding each other again among the ruins of Cardassia Prime’s Capital City, right after the fights are stopped for good, both still alive, and feelings just need to be released. Bashir leaves Starfleet to go and find Garak on Cardassia, to stay with him. Just get them together in any scenario of your preference and I’ll be happy. :D
Any flavours of romance, from very consensual to very dubcon and noncon, would be great. Any rating also fine. Mostly-human-like or xeno genitalia takes are both welcome (but no Cardassians as full-lizard-headcanon, please: I want Garak looking like Garak). I really like enthusiastic lover top!Julian/bottom!Garak, but I’d be ok with bottom!Julian/top!Garak too, especially if the story is set early in the series. Post canon, or old guys on Cardassia, etc. also welcome!! If you go with smut, I’m really open to kinks! Divergent AU where Bashir is Garak’s captive and Garak’s orders are to interrogate him. I’ll let you decide all the background details of this scenario. Also, feel free to go really dark (but please, keep Garak’s shades of gray: I don’t think I’d enjoy him as a full-villain like his mirrorverse counterpart). Or keep things light and bantery, if you like this way best. Or maybe it’s all an holosuite game.

Caitlin's been through some things herself, including having a bomb strapped to her. I could easily see her picking up on there being something wrong with Michael. I'd love any sort of take on that, from a gen version up to and including kink (bondage, blood play, pain play?)

I'd also be up for any of the usual “get together” type tropes. Undercover as a couple? Trapped in a snowstorm? Etc. Note that I'm fine with and will be more than happy with gen, but please don't match either Caitlin or Michael with anyone else.

If that's not your thing, how about some sort of fix-it fic for the way Michael is “transferred” and Caitlin simply disappears at the end of the third season? Any rating is fine. (If you choose to go this route, I'm okay with Dom and/or String being killed.)

The Borg queen doesn't want to waste these drones, but also doesn't want them to "infect" the rest of the collective, so she assigned them all to one cube and sent them off to the far reaches of the galaxy where they (supposedly) can't cause too much harm.

Various episodes have them dealing with everything from a thinly disguised UPS to religious zealots and the Galactic Wrestling Federation.

You don't need to read all of it to "get" who the main characters are, and how their world operates.

I'd love to see 'more' of Borgspace, whether it be the officers dealing with yet another odd situation, or just some more eccentric crew members.

Thoughts and Prompts

One thing I love about this show is how well-meaning and yet deeply flawed both of the main characters are, and the continual strain of politics on their friendship. There are some intense loyalty tropes here, right alongside a lot of deception and mutual distrust and conflict. I love seeing how they struggle to sustain the fiction of an equal friendship in spite of the massive power imbalance between them, and how it becomes increasingly difficult to make out how much of what they show each other is genuine and how much is performance.

I basically love every single canon interaction between these two, so if you just want to expand on a scene or event that happened, or a different version of an event that happened, or a different time when the same thing happened again, or whatever, those are all great. :) I like the fluffy scenes where they’re just fooling around or getting up to mischief together; I like the darker scenes where their trust issues, identity issues, or power-dynamic issues take the foreground.

Prompts:

• These two come from very different worlds, and I love seeing them try to connect, successfully or not. I’d love to see a story about some instance of this — e.g. maybe Wai Siu-bou is willing to let the Emperor give him some basic reading/writing lessons, or teach him to play chess? Or, on the other side, maybe the Emperor is willing to let Wai Siu-bou get him drunk, or teach him to play dice?

• So there’s that one scene where Wai Siu-bou rushes to the Emperor’s room in the middle of the night, and the Emperor tells the guards to let him in, and then invites him to sleep there. Does Wai Siu-bou ever take him up on this offer? (I mean, it’s hardly the only time these two end up staying up late together in the Emperor’s quarters — especially since it looks like Wai Siu-bou, as the Emperor’s personal attendant, ends up at least temporarily with duties like helping him dress and undress...)

• I love all the scenes where either character gets very protective or solicitous about the other one, and as you may have guessed from my "likes" list, h/c is one of my favorite tropes, so basically I’ll be delighted with any excuse you can come up with for one or the other of these two to be in some kind of distress — physical, emotional, mundane or fantastical, however plausible or implausible. Honestly my all-time favorite fanfic trope is just your standard run-of-the-mill h/c setup where one character is ill or injured and the other one helps them recover or just stays with them while they weather it out. Plot totally optional. The Emperor is ill and summons Wai Siu-bou to his room because he wants company/diversion? The Emperor finds out Wai Siu-bou is injured and pays him a visit in his quarters? The Emperor accidentally hurts Wai Siu-bou during a wrestling match? Wai Siu-bou finds out the Emperor hasn't been sleeping well and wants to help?

• I feel like there are potentially any number of "trapped together" plots just waiting to happen here, what with our heroes regularly sneaking around together all over the palace compound, especially at night. It might be fun to see them sneak around just for the adventure of it, for once?

• I’d love to see a post-canon reunion between these two, maybe many years later, when they’re older and have lived very separate lives. Maybe Wai Siu-bou ends up in some new crisis or under arrest, and the Emperor gets wind of it and decides to intervene? How would they react to seeing each other again? How estranged would they be, or how naturally would they fall back into familiarity? How easy, or difficult, would it be for them to separate again?

• Wai Siu-bou seems really proud of his massage-giving skills, and rather eager to try them out on the Emperor — who, for his own part, doesn’t seem all that resistant to the idea (except maybe insofar as they happened to be outside and potentially in public view at the time). Further development on this topic?

Thoughts and Prompts

• I’d love to see what sort of mischief these two usually get up to when they’re not busy dealing with palace intrigue or national politics. They apparently spend time together in the Upper Library nearly every day, and the Emperor also seems to rather frequently invite Wei Xiaobao into his private quarters. What are they up to?

• It’s noted repeatedly that the Emperor dislikes being cooped up in the palace and envies Wei Xiaobao’s freedom. Meanwhile, Wei Xiaobao seems to have no trouble at all smuggling people into or out of the palace gates even in broad daylight, as long as he can dress them up as eunuchs or guards or whatever. Would he consider trying to smuggle the Emperor himself out for a few hours, in pursuit of some adventure, or just for a visit to town? Would the Emperor be tempted by such a possibility?

• Sort of reversing the above: there’s a scene where Wei Xiaobao has a talk with a eunuch in the kitchens and hears that as a rule of the palace, no "rare or unusual food" can be offered to any of the imperial family (because "if one of them were to suffer the slightest little sickness after eating it, it would be off with our heads"); the eunuch says he's worried that the Emperor has "the curiosity of youth" and might be perilously attracted to foreign and exotic experiences. Now, granted, what Wei Xiaobao is actually up to is a lot worse than anything the eunuch suspects — but regardless of that, this whole exchange kind of makes me want to see him actually sneaking exotic food (or really any other forbidden/exciting thing) into the palace for the Emperor (who as usual has to rely on his street-urchin friend to supply the adventures his attendants keep trying to protect him from).

• On a similar note, just in general I’d love to see instances of Wei Xiaobao corrupting the Emperor with low-class or forbidden amusements, e.g. gambling, cursing/obscenities, drinking, ribald storytelling, sneaking around the palace, etc. With whatever result, really.

• So, the wrestling scenes in this novel certainly involve a lot of, uh, entanglement and mutual gazing? And mutual obsession? E.g. "For both boys their daily [wrestling] bouts became something of an addiction: if they missed a day they became positively unwell." Which, apart from being a hard-to-resist shipping invitation, also suggests that they did, at least occasionally, miss a day, with... like, actual health consequences? I confess I want to know more about all of this.

• It would be great to see some kind of hurt/comfort between these two, or any variation on the trope. They seem well set up for it. Kangxi, in spite of being very controlled and dignified in front of everyone else, often gets quite emotional around Wei Xiaobao, and seems to generally look to him for support when he has any problems. Wei Xiaobao also has his own sources of angst, and on top of that he spends like 80% of the novel in some condition of recent injury or under the influence of some kind of poison.

I'd love to see worldbuilding related to places, cultures, histories, people, objects, or scenes in this canon. :D More details, canon links, etc., are in my letter!

Thoughts and Prompts

• I love the historical aspects of the novel, and am not at all familiar with this period of Chinese history otherwise, so any kind of historical details you can introduce into a fanwork would be amazing, whether that means sketches of period-typical costuming, architectural details or floorplans, a hierarchy of court titles, dice game rules, or a meta discussion of anachronisms in some particular scene or plot arc. In short, if you’re someone who has historical knowledge about 17th-century China and would enjoy putting it into some kind of fanwork format, please do!

• I’m also happy to get completely fictional worldbuilding! There are a lot of events and objects that get hints of backstory but are never fully explained in the novel. For example, what exactly is the history behind the impenetrable vest that Wei Xaobao acquires from among Oboi’s possessions? Or the seemingly magical knife? What’s the story with the German priest Schall, whose life the Emperor says he saved when he was ten years old? Backstory about Hai Dafu and the Old Emperor’s retreat to the mountains? What happened to the scholars from the opening chapter?

• Sort of combining the above, I’d love to see fanworks in the form of “historical” documents that treat the canon as history, whether from a post-canon or canon-concurrent timeframe — e.g. a memorial to the throne from Cao Yin, a page from a history text, or something like information cards from a museum display of artifacts from the events of the novel (Wu Sangui’s marble screen, the golden bowl Shi Lang gives Wei Xiaobao, the crystal dice the Emperor sends as a gift, etc.). Or other kinds of documents? Folk ballads about Chen Jinnan? The imperial doctor’s medical report on Dolong after his stabbing?

• I’d be interested to see journals, memoirs, or letters from minor characters who live in the palace complex (including random unnamed guards or eunuchs or maids), or other people who might be privy to information we don’t get in the novel. This could tie into worldbuilding about particular locations or items or processes (the workings of the Imperial Catering Department, the assortment of weird poisons in Hai Dafu’s medical box) or it could be an outsider-viewpoint angle for looking at either the Emperor or Wei Xiaobao (or their relationship, if you want to blend this request with my pairing requests—but I’m totally fine with just a perspective on one or the other of them individually, too).

• If by chance you’re just reading this prompt list because there’s some particular unconventional medium that you wanted to try out and you’re wondering if you could do it for this fandom, then I’d say as long as it fits the canon setting in some way (i.e. doesn’t require some kind of extravagant AU to make sense), go for it!

Once again, more power imbalance, just with one (1) mortal exorcist and the prickly immortal who does the same work.
Canon doesn't specifically say so but I find it likely that the exorcists likely specifically venerate the Conqueror of Demons (as the patron immortal of their entire profession), given their similar line of work (even if Xiao is dismissive of them/their powers). Chongyun is certainly reverent (this probably comes across more clearly in other languages besides ENG: in CN he uses the same honorific when referring to Xiao that Xiao uses for Zhongli, which is certainly an indication) even with his one complaint. And he very likely has dealt with Xiao before, since he calls him by his personal name instead of by his yaksha name.
Their constitution issues are complimentary, with Chongyun's pure yang body and the fact that Xiao is very likely extremely yin-imbalanced, given him being tainted by the resentment of the dead gods. They could be each other's treatment. (insert horny xianxia tropes here: dual cultivation, etc).

So Xiao's dismissive comment about "literati fan fiction" in his story quest implies that among the literati in Liyue is a subculture where they, well, write in-universe RPF "fan fiction" about Rex Lapis and the adepti. And you know that they have to be writing incredibly pretentious porn and probably having some kind of even more pretentious literary debate and criticism while doing so.
While Xiao himself seems to be an unpopular figure for any kind of folk veneration/worship, given how fucking terrifying most ordinary people in Liyue find him, he probably occupies an interesting place in the literature of Liyue: symbol of endurance and devotion (to duty) ? the model for the archetypical Beautiful Youth? Given the one ridiculous fanboy in his story quest, I like to think that while he's probably got the least number of devotees of any of the adepti that regularly or semi-regularly interact with humans by sheer numbers (and doesn't take mortal disciples), Xiao's devotees are probably on another level entirely with Ridiculous Devotion.
So what kind of pretentious porn is being written by the scholars among Xiao's ridiculous mortal fanboys? (How many ways can they Extremely Respectfully And Reverently write their fantasies of wanting to put their dicks in him?) Roy/Jason: Set back when Jason was Robin and 15. Dick takes him along to meet Dick's friends at Titan's Tower, and Jason ends up crushing really hard on Speedy. He's not exactly subtle about it either, because he's 15. Roy notices, but of course pretends not to, because he knows better than that, the kid is 15 (even if Jason is real cute), and besides, that's Dick's little brother. Except later, everyone gets a little drunk, and Roy gets very, very drunk, drunk enough to forget why he shouldn't be into it when Jason awkwardly hits on him again. Jason totally doesn't know that Roy is thaaaat drunk (because Roy can nail a fly's wing to the wall at 300 yards when strung out on heroin, there's no way a kid with a crush and a bad case of hero worship is going to notice the subtle signs that he's drunker than everyone else). They have very inadvisable and somehow really good sex.
Tim/Dick/Jason: Somehow a picture of Red Hood and Red Robin acting real cozy ends up in the gossip mags. Then a picture of Red Hood and Nightwing that looks as if they might be kissing. Then one of Red Robin and Nightwing holding hands. People go crazy speculating about bat threesomes, love triangles and cheating.
Tim/Jason: Working a case together! Tim needs to infiltrate some group or another, and Jason pretends to be his bodyguard.
Tim/Bernard Dowd: Second date, and maybe this time without any kidnapping. Tim never gets a break, so the third date probably involves kidnapping again, but hey, at least he gets a kiss.
At some point, Bernard is going to see Tim's body, which means Tim needs to explain all those scars... and since Bernard is a bit of a bat fanboy and conspiracy theorist, those explanations need to be creative and convincing. The only logical thing is for Tim to pretend all those scars are from sexy pain play gone a little too far!

A fluffy piece would be fun, but some sort of angsty or dramatic work would be equally great! I kind of like the idea of some sort of apocalypse happening, either magic gone wrong or an alien invasion (there was that one sneaky alien that landed on the farm and lurked at night!). Or possibly the monsters break out of the mines and go on a rampage. The war gets worse. Someone makes a mistake with the rain totem and it never stops raining. Ghosts! Abigail's magic powers wake up and she does something... weird. Possibly by accident. One of Maru's robots goes evil.
Or just everyone's love (and sex) stories!

I have a really soft spot for Daniel and almost as much for Ryoyu. Do I ship them together? Absolutely. But I also love a cliché roommates Naoki/Ryoyu - I mean, they have been roommates!!

A good idea about that last ship came to me some time ago when Nao posted a story pic with Tatsunao: Naoki involuntarily messing up with the Kobayashi family. Something like he's crushing on Roy and spending time with Tatsu, who listens to his love ramblings; Roy misunderstands and gets jealous. Extra kudos for bringing into the picture Yuka and Junshiro too!

But really, I'll take anything, those are such a rareship!! Ryoyu is just COOL, and Naoki and Daniel are the purest rays of sunshine ever, always smiling and taking time to make the others smile around them too (do we need to talk about that one time in June when Naoki did a joined insta live just because he had an hunch Roy was feeling lonely and wanted to cheer him up? That was absolutely golden). I just love ski jumping a lot and love even more the friendship and the shenanigans between the athletes get up to...

I'm ok with mostly anything, but lately I've been particularly interested into what goes on in Jordan's brain and I would really love to read something from his POV! Even an AU would be great, there's not nearly enough of them in this fandom! And if you need some ideas, here's a couple of prompts:

I nominated two ships but they're basically the same at different points in time. I'm using pronoun 'him' for Karl because I assume she thought she was a he based on what she says about thinking she was gay. I don't mean to misgender her. You're free to use whatever pronoun you prefer.

Karl Foyle & Paul Prentice

I love how the movie begins, with Prentice being the protective knight in shining armor and Karl so obviously in love with him. I'd love to see more of their school years, their friendship, how they were around each other, how they spent their time in and outside school. Did they get in trouble? How was young Kim/Karl in comparison to adult Kim? Prentice thought Karl was gay, so did Karl. Did that ever show in their interactions? Was Prentice attracted to him at all? I'd also be fine with friendship & angsty one-sided pining from Karl's side here. How did they lose contact and how did they feel about it during those years?

Kim Foyle/Paul Prentice

They're adorable together. Prentice is a mess, he doesn't stop to think things over instead of acting, and he doesn't really hide what he's thinking or feeling even when it'll get him in trouble. Kim is the opposite, cool and more closed, keeping her feelings to herself so she won't accidentally do something "wrong". I like how they complement each other and how, after they meet, they both start to change. How does their life together continue? Kim's obviously more relaxed and more her true self, while Prentice is a tiny bit more adult. Maybe. :D How are they with their friends, how do they deal with outsiders, what are their future plans, what adventures do they have?

Also, now that I'm more grown up than I was when I first saw this, I noticed I love her relationship with her sister and her brother-in-law a lot. So they're ok to show up, too.

This show is just an endless source of joy. And ships! So many ships. As usual, I could've added about ten here, but I wanted to focus on Teku because on every rewatch I keep wanting more of him and the show won't deliver. He seems like such an interesting guy, a mentor, a teacher, a confidant, a friend, and lots of other things.

I'd happily take anything that focuses on his and Ryo's relationship. Something from years ago when Ryo was young and still training, surrounded by a bunch of people that shouldn't be trusted, Teku being one who he does value and trust. Some missing scenes during canon, from either POV, could be fun. And post-canon, yes please! I would love to know how their relationship develops, whether they're friends or allies or enemies or everything at once. Or maybe a canon divergence where they meet when Ryo's Four, lacking all his memories?

I'm requesting both & and / because I just want more of them together. Please have Ryo be at least 15-16 or so if it gets very sexual. Glimpses from his childhood are also fine.

I felt like nominating and requesting Peter so that's what I'm doing. :) I'll borrow from some of my older sign-ups because I realized they're still pretty accurate.

Marcus is my favourite on this show, though I very much enjoy the other main characters & many of the side characters as well (regardless of season). And I want him to be happy. Life's been too rough for him and he deserves some comfort and quiet and lots and lots of cuddles. Love his total disregard for personal space, and the way he can flirt with just about everything that moves. :D And I love the way he uses his hands. To touch, to express things, to console. I don't always have a hand thing but when I do I have it bad.

I ship Marcus with both Tomas and Peter, so these ships make sense to me. Just Marcus and Peter together? Fantastic! Marcus not being able to decide and neither Tomas or Peter being opposed to it? Both. Both is good. Or maybe one ends in break-up (amicable preferred, I don't want anything nasty between them, or maybe there's a death - in this case you can ignore my death DNW, but only in this case) during the story and another begins. Or maybe there are two parallel timelines with both? Something else? I'm not picky here.

Anything during canon or post-canon would be welcome. Continuing the business, travelling, trying to fix things and find peace. Quitting and settling down to do something else, not quite knowing what and how because it's so foreign. I want Marcus to have someone to share it all with, whether it's one person or two.

Feel free to go wherever you want with the religious aspects, whether it's all nice and by the book, something dark and twisted and dirtybadwrong, or something else entirely. You can't offend me, I assure you, and nothing's too blasphemous for me.

This show is fun and wonderful and unexpected, and the cast is great, right down to the side characters. I love these siblings (and their robot mother and even their father in all his terrible heartlessness), so choosing just a couple of ships was hard. Anyone else is welcome to show up. Mentioning canon ships is fine.

I'm not familiar with the comics so I'd prefer nothing that requires comic knowledge.

Diego Hargreeves/Grace Hargreeves (TUA)

I ship it. <3 I know my DNWs include mommy kink, but if Diego has a few mommy issues in general in the middle of all the other feels? That'd be fine. I just really don't want a sex scene with him calling her mom in the middle of it, or him kinking on her being someone who raised him. Feeling guilty and ashamed? Yes, please.

Any point during/after canon would be great, including all the canon divergence (or time travel, which on this show is just a regular Tuesday event anyway). I honestly can't think of any specific prompts, but you can't go wrong with physical hurt/comfort. Either direction, but maybe hurt Diego slightly preferred? Good for pining and trying to hide feelings he reallyreally wants to hide.

Number Five/Luther Hargreeves (TUA)

I really enjoy their relationship, and I'm so glad someone nominated a / ship here. Because I want it. :D I'm fine with pre-canon fic where they're both still teenagers (doesn't hit my underage DNW, just keep them 13+ if there's kissing), but I do have a preference for present time or post-canon as the main focus. No need to age Five up, I actually like the weirdness that comes from the fact that he's an old man who just looks so young it makes things feel a bit creepy. Five knows he's a grown-up (and then some), Luther knows he's a grown-up. I mean, Luther may question his reactions and preferences and life choices in general. :D But that's fine.

I don't even know how they'd end up together. They face something life-threatening, unite against a common enemy, get trapped and face (what they think is) a certain doom, or one of them fucks something up and the other shows up to help? Or something else. Or throw a dart at my likes list and go with whatever it happens to hit (or the one above/below), it'll be good.

This is one of my "Huh, I just remembered how much I used to enjoy this thing, and now I can't stop thinking about it so clearly I need to nominate it!" canons. I enjoy the entire cast a lot, so anyone is welcome to show up. Feeling like a team fic with some shippiness on the side? Great. Want to focus entirely on the ship with the rest of the cast on the side? Also great.

This ship broke my heart a bit. I want it. If you can fix it, I'd be so very happy. Maybe the team gets there in time, maybe the case goes differently, I don't care as long as Kalle stays alive for a while longer. Preferably more than a while.

Though I'd also like to read an angstier one-sided crush type of story, maybe one of their cases (feel free to make up your own) but from Kalle's POV. Doesn't have to be a case, either, could be something like a lunch break or just the two of them hanging out, talking about non-work stuff.

I'm really not picky here.
