What is it/what is it about? An improv comedy-scripted mystery hybrid! A ragtag group of amateur detectives wake up on a supernatural train with no idea how they got there. Together with a mysterious amnesiac stranger, they have to unravel questions about the train, find their boss... and earn clues by completing comedy drawings along the way.
What do you love about it? I'm a huge fan of Drawfee, the comedy-art channel that produces Drawtectives. Their sense of humor is exactly mine (there's an extended bit about how it's more respectful to kill your prey by cutting it in half "hot-dog style") and the art is gorgeous and well-rendered. What really sets this show apart is the character work. An unambitious dog-walker, an orc warrior turned male model, and a thief with a checkered past working on going legit, all coming together with a surprising amount of emotional vulnerability. It's sweet, and twisty, and funny, all in good turns.
Where should people start? Season 2 is self-contained, and begins with an introduction to the characters and a recap of the first season. (S1 is also fun, if you're so inclined! But all my requests are centered on S2.)
Do you have any content warnings? Death and cartoony violence (moderate) and memory manipulation (major)
