Nominations Clarification 2

Important update to the nominations process! We will be rejecting a lot more AO3-nominated tags this year because we have a lot more people helping us with nominations. The good part of more helpers is that we're getting through tags a lot faster. The bad part of more helpers is that it's a lot harder to coordinate information. To prevent us from accidentally accepting queried tags, we will be rejecting all queried tags.

AO3 nominators will not lose nomination slots to tags rejected for queries — once we've settled the query, we'll put in whatever tag(s) we've agreed on via batch load for you. Generally, we will enter replacement tags for anything rejected or queried for complicated reasons (examples: WB tags we don't understand; characters we thought might be inanimate objects but aren't) but won't enter replacement tags for simple rule breaking (examples: tags with more than 6 characters; tags nominated in lapslock; WB: [Character] Backstory) which is how it's basically always been anyway.

Here is a little FAQ about Nominations Clarification posts for those of you who haven't run into them before:

What/why is a Nominations Clarification post?

Nomination clarifications are queries about tags we find confusing and updates about tags or the tagset in general. The goal of nominations is to create a tagset of unambiguous, easy to understand tags that will be useful to participants and solidly within the scope of the exchange. The goal of a clarifications post is to keep all of our participants up-to-date regarding our nominations work and solicit feedback where necessary to create the most useful tagset we can.

Do I need to read the whole post?

No. You can just skim each clarification post to see if a fandom you're interested in requesting or offering has been mentioned. We recommend doing this even if you don't care very much how the tagset is organized in case we make some kind of huge blunder with your favorite fandom or OTP.

How do I reply to a Nominations Clarification post? Do I need a Dreamwidth account?

You don't need a Dreamwidth account because we have anonymous commenting turned on. If you comment anonymously, remember to check back for our reply! You can also email us at ficinaboxmod@gmail.com if you'd prefer.

There's a query about a fandom I'm familiar with, but I'm not the nominator. Can I tell you what I think?

Yes! If you are not the nominator but have relevant fandom knowledge about something, please speak up. Nominators don't always reply to our queries, so answers from other people in the fandom are often very helpful.

Why haven't you processed my nomination(s) yet?

Nominations can't be processed in a strictly first-in, first-out manner because of various backend reasons, so most likely we just haven't yet had a chance because of the large volume of submitted nominations. Double check our nominations clarification posts for your tag. If sign ups open and one or more of your tags is mysteriously still missing, please reach out.

My AO3 tagset nomination(s) were rejected but aren't discussed below, why did you reject them?

Most likely you failed to disambiguate your nominations, or made some other error — we reject incorrect tags rather than fixing them. You're welcome to post a link to your nominations slate if you'd like us to tell you why the tag(s) were rejected. You can attempt to re-nominated tags either on AO3 or via the form if you'd like.

However, there is a delay between us rejecting and us posting nominations clarifications! Literally as I post this post, other people on the tagmod team are approving/rejecting new tags. So your rejected tag might show up in a future clarification post

I have a nominations question not answered here or on the Nomination Guidelines. Can I ask on this post?

Yes! You can ask nominations questions on whichever nominations clarification post has been most recently posted, or you can ask on the Nomination Guidelines, or you can use the mod contact post, or you can email us. We're happy to help no matter how you get in contact!

Updates

Recursive fandoms looking for interested requesters/offerers

Per exchange rules, new recursive fandoms need at least three people to be interested in them before we can approve them into the tagset. This is to make sure we don't end up overrun by recursive fandoms that no one can create for.

The following works have been nominated as a recursive fandom, and need more people to note their interest in offering or requesting them.

Woman Obligated To Marry Her Sister's Widower/Her Sister's Abused Husband (Original Work fic)

If you're interested, please comment here (link) either logged in or with a signed anon comment saying that you're interested.

past tense sorrow by Tavina (open for more info)
  • Length: 11,738 words
  • Selected tags: Disabled Female Character, Hurt/Comfort, Politics, Historical Setting
  • Summary:
Qiao Wan is recalled from her post in the border provinces to marry her older sister’s widower.

For Gongye Ci, the idea of being married to a general hailed as the “Goddess of War” is worse than the idea of being married to his now dead wife.

Con artist impersonating a missing kid & kid’s family who murdered kid then reported missing (Original Work comic)

If you're interested, please comment here (link) either logged in or with a signed anon comment saying that you're interested.

Where is Trevor by sarriathmg (open for more info)
  • Selected tags: Murder Mystery, Fridge Horror, Child Murder, Thriller, Ghosts, Corpses
  • Summary:
Trevor, a boy thought dead after his disappearance in a public park ten years ago, has recently turned up alive.

This is what his family has to say.

What am I agreeing to by saying I'm interested? Do I need to request/offer the fandom? It's not a binding blood oath or anything, and we won't check if you follow through. We are just trying to confirm that there's a minimum amount of interest in the recursive fandom in FIAB's audience.

Create a New Site Skin for Easier Tagset Browsing

AO3's tagset unfortunately shows tags in comma-separated paragraphs, which is really unhelpful for larger fandoms. Luckily, we have the power of siteskins, which are a way of changing how AO3 looks using CSS and settings in your AO3 account. [personal profile] shadaras has helpfully written up a tutorial explaining how to make tags in tagsets all display on their own line, so that the tagset will look like this:

A screenshot of the Star Wars - All Media Types section of the Fic In A Box tagset with all tags displayed on separate lines instead of in a comma-separated paragraph.
Instructions

  1. Go to your dashboard/profile/basic Account page. On the left-hand sidebar (/top menu section, on mobile browsers), there will be a tab named "Skins". It should be directly after "Preferences" and directly before "Works". Click on this.
A screenshot of an AO3 userprofile on the Skins screen, showing where to click to navigate there.
  2. In the top-right corner (under the My Site Skins header) there is a button called "Create Site Skin". Click this.
  3. You're now on a page allowing you to create a new skin! Awesome! Make sure that the Type is set to "Site Skin" (it should be there by default) and type in a name for this skin. It must be unique across the entire site. I suggest "[YOURUSERNAME]'s Nice Tagset Viewing Skin", but you can name it anything unique.
Optional: Write a description for your skin so you remember what it does/why you have it.
A screenshot of the Edit Skin screen showing the tagset is named Shadaras' Nice Tagset Viewing Skin.
  4. Copy and Paste the CSS found below these instructions into the big box labeled "CSS".
Optional: If you're modifying an existing site skin, also copy that in! You should be able to add this CSS to any site skin you already have.
  5. Scroll down and hit the "Submit" button in the lower-right corner.
  6. VERY IMPORTANT: Hit "Use" in the bottom tab list! You must hit "Use" for this site skin to be applied.
A screenshot of a newly created site skin with the "Use" button circled in red.

So What's That Code?
Here it is!

  • Annihilation (2018 Garland): Lena & The Shimmer (Annihilation 2018 Garland) — It's not clear to us from plot summary that the Shimmer is itself sentient/a character in the way the Lena or Kane doubles are. Does it talk, plan, have feelings? Do other characters talk to or about it like it's sentient?
  • Annihilation (2018 Garland): Lena/The Shimmer (Annihilation 2018 Garland) — It's not clear to us from plot summary that the Shimmer is itself sentient/a character in the way the Lena or Kane doubles are. Does it talk, plan, have feelings? Do other characters talk to or about it like it's sentient?
  • Bloodborne (Video Game): Bloody Crow of Cainhurst/The Good Hunter (Bloodborne) — "The Good Hunter" is synned to "The Hunter" on AO3. Are these the same character? If they are we will accept as "Bloody Crow of Cainhurst/The Hunter (Bloodborne)"
  • Bloodborne (Video Game): Ludwig the Holy Blade & Simon the Harrowed (Bloodborne) — The AO3 canonical for Ludwig is just "Ludwig" and "Ludwig the Holy Blade" seems to just be the term for Lugwig's second boss phase. Are "Ludwig" and "Ludwig the Holy Blade" actually separate characters? If not, we will accept this tag as "Ludwig & Simon the Harrowed (Bloodborne)"
  • Bloodborne (Video Game): The Good Hunter & Father Gascoigne (Bloodborne) — "The Good Hunter" is synned to "The Hunter" on AO3. Are these the same character? If they are we will accept as "The Hunter & Father Gascoigne (Bloodborne)"

  • Bloodborne (Video Game): Vileblood Queen Annalise/The Good Hunter (Bloodborne) — "The Good Hunter" is synned to "The Hunter" on AO3. Are these the same character? If they are we will accept as "Vileblood Queen Annalise/The Hunter (Bloodborne)"
  • Compilation of Final Fantasy VII: All tags — We've asked for FFVIIs to be split into pre- and post-remake. Compilation of Final Fantasy VII is a combination of both, so we can't accept it as a fandom, which means we need to sort out where the tags should go -- we think "Solo: Kunsel (FFVII)" should go into "Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII" but we're not sure about the others.
Open this details tag for a full list of tags.

  • Dimension 20 (Web Series): Andy "Dang" Litefoot & Greg Stocks (D20), Usha Rao & G13 (D20), Wendell Morris & Vic Ethanol (D20), Liv Skyler & Kingskin (D20), Russell Feeld & Jennifer Drips (D20), Paula Donvalson & Jack Manhattan (D20) — It's my understanding that the season of D20, the player characters are employees at a movie store who get sucked into playing the role of action movie characters, and that this relationship is made up of a movie store employee and the action movie character they become. We don't typically allow characters to be nominated under alternate names, aliases, stagenames, etc. When the movie store employees take the place of the action movie characters, do they become all new people, or are they movie store employees suddenly thrust into action hero bodies? It seems to me like it's the second, but no one on the tagmodding team has actually seen this season. (Also: Many of the characters from these ships are in other tags already in the tagset, because we didn't catch this potential problem until now, so depending on the answers we get from D20 folks we might need to clear that up..)
  • Interstitial: Our Hearts Intertwined (Roleplaying Game): Old Man John Cena/Sans Undertale (Interstitial) — We don't usually allow characters to be nominated at different points in their canon timeline. Is Old Man John Cena somehow a canonical alternate version of regular/younger John Cena?
  • Interstitial: Our Hearts Intertwined (Roleplaying Game): Solo: Apex Trio (Interstitial) — Is this the same thing as "Solo: The Apex (Interstitial)"?
  • Interstitial: Our Hearts Intertwined (Roleplaying Game): Solo: Authority Cast (Interstitial) — Is this the same thing as "Solo: Authority Party (Interstitial)"?
  • Interstitial: Our Hearts Intertwined (Roleplaying Game): Solo: Authority Party (Interstitial) — Is this the same thing as "Solo: Authority Cast (Interstitial)"?

  • Interstitial: Our Hearts Intertwined (Roleplaying Game): Solo: Identity Party (Interstitial) — We've accepted this into the tagset, but could someone tell us which characters are in this group?
  • Interstitial: Our Hearts Intertwined (Roleplaying Game): Solo: Infinity Finale Party (Interstitial) — We've accepted this into the tagset, but could someone tell us which characters are in this group?
  • Interstitial: Our Hearts Intertwined (Roleplaying Game): Solo: The Apex (Interstitial) — Is this the same thing as "Solo: Apex Trio (Interstitial)"?
  • Nimona (Webcomic): WB: Mad Science Contraptions (Nimona Comic) — Are there specific mad science contraptions in canon, which are called that by other characters? Or, is mad science canonically a type of science in this canon, which is known to involve contraptions?
  • Nimona (Webcomic): WB: Nefarious Plots in Detail (Nimona Comic) — We don't think that this counts as worldbuilding...but we also don't know what it means, so we can't be sure. Could the nominator elaborate about what kind of worldbuilding they were hoping for from this tag?
  • Nimona (Webcomic): WB: Science That Glows (Nimona Comic) — We can't figure out what this means. Could someone let us know?
  • One Piece (Live Action TV 2023): WB: Expectations of Piracy (OPLA) — We're not sure what this WB: tag means, could the nominator elaborate?
  • One Piece (Live Action TV 2023): Zorro/Kuro (OPLA) — Should "Zorro" be "Roronoa Zoro"?
  • Original Work: Normal Kid & Hero & Villain & Vigilante Counterparts from Other Timelines Asking for Help (OW) — We're not sure exactly whose vigilante counterparts are being asked for here. All three of them?
  • She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (2018): WB: Effect on People of Stars Coming Back (She-Ra) — We can't figure out what this WB: tag means, could the nominator elaborate on what kind of worldbuilding they're looking for/what it means that the stars "came back"?
  • The Will Darling Adventures - K. J. Charles: Will Darling/Kim Secretan & Kim's Sister-In-Law (The Will Darling Adventures) — We think Kim's sister-in-law might have a name. Can anyone recall what it is, if indeed it exists?
  • The Will Darling Adventures - K. J. Charles: Will Darling/Kim Secretan & Kim's Sister-In-Law & Kim's Nephews (The Will Darling Adventures) — We think Kim's sister-in-law might have a name. Can anyone recall what it is, if indeed it exists?

Ao3 tagset nominations

  • Danny Phantom: WB: Ghost Mechanics (Danny Phantom) — Is this tag about the mechanics of being a ghost, or is it about something like how ghosts like Johnny 13 keep things like motorcycles and other machines working?
  • Degrassi the Next Generation: Sean C. & Toby I. & Emma N. & Manny S. & Liberty V. & J.T. Y. (Degrassi the Next Generation) — We're willing to accept this with just last name initials....except for "J.T. V." which we just know is going to confuse us during work checks. We assume everyone calls this character "J.T." but could you let us know their last name? We will shorten the disambiguation to make it fit and add the edited tag to the tagset for you.
  • Final Fantasy VIII: WB: Hyne and the Creation of Sorceresses (FFVIII) — Worldbuilding tags can't be focused on just one character, so we think we need to rephrase this tag. Could the nominator let us know whether "WB: The Creation of Sorceresses (FFVIII)" would cover what they want, and if it wouldn't could they let us know what they're hoping for out of this tag and/or why they think Hyne needs to be mentioned?
  • Dimension 20 (Web Series): G13 & Usha Rao (D20) — It's my understanding that the season of D20, the player characters are employees at a movie store who get sucked into playing the role of action movie characters, and that this relationship is made up of a movie store employee and the action movie character they become. (Also: Both of the characters from this ship are in other tags already in the tagset, because we didn't catch this potential problem until now, so depending on the answers we get from D20 folks we might need to clear that up.)
  • Final Fantasy VIII: Zell D & Rinoa H & Irvine K & Squall L & Selphie T & Quistis T (FFVIII) — Although this was rejected, it should now be in the tagset. Thank you for including as much of the characters' names as you could!
  • In Other Waters (Video Game): Oceanic Mind & Oki (In Other Waters) — It seems like "Oceanic Mind" might be a location. Is it sentient? Do other characters talk to it/does it talk back? Does it have emotions, take actions, etc? (It's called a mind...but we want to check!)
  • Person of Interest (TV): The Machine & Root (Person of Interest TV) — This was rejected for querying, but we sorted out the query before needing to ask anything, so it's already in the tagset!
  • Rose Red (TV): WB: Other Rose Red Ghosts (RR) — This seems to be a group of characters. We can either accept this as a Solo: tag or the nominator can let us know what specific worldbuilding they'd like about this group.
  • Slow Damage (Visual Novel): Kirihara Megumu/Kirihara Nozomu (Slow Damage) — Kirihara Megumu appears to be from a different Visual Novel called "Hatsujou Switch ~Bishimai ga Saiminjutsu ni Ochita Saki~" - are these VN part of a same series, or should this be nominated under Crossover Fandom?
  • Subnautica (Video Game) : WB: Precursor Race (Subnautica) — This seems to be a race of cybernetic lifeforms. We can either accept this as "Solo: Precursor Race (Subnautica)" or the nominator can let us know what specific worldbuilding they would like about the Precursor Race.
  • Vibes (1988): WB: The City of Gold (Vibes) — The plot summaries we've found indicate that there's no actual City of Gold, only an Incan city with no gold and a pyramid built by aliens. Do you want worldbuilding about the non-gold Incan city (and if so, does it have a different name?) or are you looking for worldbuilding about rumors/legends about the City of Gold?

Rejected Tags

Google Forms nominations

  • Doctor Who (2005): WB: The Lives Of The Doctor’s Former Companions (DW 2005) — This is either a prompt or a request for backstory, neither of which are allowed as WB tags. We would suggest you nominate whichever former companions you're interested and prompt for details about their lives using your optional details.
  • Interstitial: Our Hearts Intertwined (Roleplaying Game): WB: Conductor Trish Una (Interstitial) — Please use your optional details to prompt for this character as a train conductor under "Solo: Trish Una" (already in the tagset)
  • Interstitial: Our Hearts Intertwined (Roleplaying Game): WB: Infinity Post-Season Timeskip (Interstitial) — Sorry, this doesn't meet our worldbuilding guidelines. Could the nominator tell us more about what aspect of the canon world they want worldbuilding about? You can read our worldbuilding guidelines here (link). We're looking for a concrete facet of the requested canon with in-universe phrasing.
  • Interstitial: Our Hearts Intertwined (Roleplaying Game): WB: Proximity Post-Season Heists (Interstitial) — Sorry, this doesn't meet our worldbuilding guidelines. Could the nominator tell us more about what aspect of the canon world they want worldbuilding about? You can read our worldbuilding guidelines here (link). We're looking for a concrete facet of the requested canon with in-universe phrasing.

  • ????: Solo: Ancient Nomai, WB: Ancient Nomai lifestyle/customs — Sorry, these were accidentally accepted without disambiguation, but we can't even properly query them because...they fell out of association and we don't know what fandom they belong to! If you nominated these, please re-nominate with disambiguation, as they are no longer in the tagset.

Re: Dimension 20, I nominated G13 & Usha on Ao3 (but not through the Google form). When the movie store employees enter the world, they're thrust into movie character bodies, and the movie store employees can even talk to/have relationships with the movie characters that they're inhabiting. There are canon interactions between the "real world" characters and the movie characters. The movie characters also have existing relationships - for example, Jack Manhattan (character who gets possessed) is married to Lucy Santangelo in the movie, and then Paula (movie store employee who possesses Jack) can also interact with Lucy. Jack and Lucy already have a relationship in the context of the movie, separate from the context of the season. Hopefully this explanation makes sense!

Hi there,

Slow Damage nominator here and Kirihara Megumu is actually a character in Slow Damage that just seems to coincidentally have the same name as that other character; he has an entry here on TV Tropes for Slow Damage under Other Residents of Mainland Japan if you need proof:
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Characters/SlowDamageSupportingCharacters

Thank you so much and please let me know if you need any additional information about him!

I didn't nom it, but in other exchanges, I have written for the "Normal Kid & Hero & Villain & Vigilante counterparts" prompt, and my story (which satisfied the prompter), had four different versions of the same boy from different facets of reality: one normal, one a superhero, one a supervillain, one a vigilante.

OPLA nomination here!

Yes, Zorro should be Roronoa Zoro

For expectations if piracy, the way Luffy conceives of piracy and the way basically everyone else does (and the way piracy plays out from non-Srawhat crews) is wildly different, and I'd love to see something exploring that

Nominator for Oceanic Mind & Oki (In Other Waters) here! (spoilers for the game ending below)

The Oceanic Mind is a giant AI that, by the time you meet it in the game, is defunct and you can explore the inside of the machine/its casing. However, at one point it was functioning and intelligent, though exactly what that intelligence was like from a human perspective isn’t clear. Instead of doing what it was supposed to, which was to modify and control the planet’s ecosystem, it just created monstrosities out of the wildlife. (Oops?)

Not the nominator, but I would strongly suggest changing the fandom tag for "Interstitial: Our Hearts Intertwined" from (Roleplaying Game) to (Actual Play)!

Interstitial: Our Hearts Intertwined (TTRPG) is a game system. The specific nominations come from a specific actual play podcast called "Interstitial" (the tv tropes page has more useful information about it than the stream site itself). (TBH as I look further into this, "RHATAF: Interstitial (Podcast)" might be the clearest disambiguation/fandom name...)

Additional not-the-nominator comment about Compilation of FFVII: I'd always assumed that fandom was "any game published before the remake", and I wouldn't be surprised if the nominator(s) treated it the same way.

Interstitial: Our Hearts Intertwined (Roleplaying Game): Old Man John Cena/Sans Undertale (Interstitial)

Old Man John Cena is the canonical name of one of the main party members, he is John Cena from a dark future timeline!

Interstitial: Our Hearts Intertwined (Roleplaying Game): Solo: Apex Trio (Interstitial) — Is this the same thing as "Solo: The Apex (Interstitial)"?

Apex Trio refers specifically to Jason Todd, Roxas, and Sakurane Shoka while the Apex refers to a larger faction present in Season 4 ("on-screen" members of this faction in the podcast are Sakurane Shoka, Roxas, Denji, Five Hargreeves, Surge the Tenrec, Simon Laurent, and several unnamed children).

Interstitial: Our Hearts Intertwined (Roleplaying Game): Solo: Authority Cast (Interstitial) — Is this the same thing as "Solo: Authority Party (Interstitial)"? - Yep!

Interstitial: Our Hearts Intertwined (Roleplaying Game): Solo: Baseball Car Away Team (Interstitial) — We've accepted this into the tagset, but could someone tell us which characters are in this group?

Kari and Gatomon, Winry Rockbell, Ralsei, Suzie, Steve Harrington, Young Link, Millicent, Dave Strider, Monkey D. Luffy

Interstitial: Our Hearts Intertwined (Roleplaying Game): Solo: Identity Party (Interstitial) — We've accepted this into the tagset, but could someone tell us which characters are in this group?

Criss Angel, Roxanne, Edith, and Marche Radiuju

Interstitial: Our Hearts Intertwined (Roleplaying Game): Solo: Infinity Finale Party (Interstitial) — We've accepted this into the tagset, but could someone tell us which characters are in this group?

Trish Una, Alphonse Elric, Sakurane Shoka, Roxas, Carrie White, Jason Todd, Panacotta Fugo, and Varian. This group (minus Alphonse) is also sometimes referred to as Cooler Passione so you might see that in nominated tags as well!

Interstitial: Our Hearts Intertwined (Roleplaying Game): WB: Infinity Post-Season Timeskip (Interstitial) — Sorry, this doesn't meet our worldbuilding guidelines. Could the nominator tell us more about what aspect of the canon world they want worldbuilding about?

WB: Infinity Train Maintenance, WB: Long-Term Train Passengers and WB: Train Car Creation? Interested mostly in the day-to-day maintenance/upkeep of the train as well as long-term passengers' quality of life in the canonical timeskip between Infinity Book 1 and (forthcoming) Infinity Book 2

Interstitial: Our Hearts Intertwined (Roleplaying Game): WB: Proximity Post-Season Heists (Interstitial) — Sorry, this doesn't meet our worldbuilding guidelines. Could the nominator tell us more about what aspect of the canon world they want worldbuilding about?

WB: Public Response To Proximity Heists & WB: Valuables Stolen By Proximity Party are probably closer to what I want -- I'm interested in both the implied heists the team gets up to before/after the show proper and also the larger public/law enforcement response.

Re: Sailor Moon, the disambiguation PGSM may confuse folks in the fandom, as that abbreviation usually refers specifically to the live action series, which does not follow the same canon or have all the same characters. BSSM might be a clearer option to refer to the anime/manga.

Not the nominator, but Kirihara Megumu and Kirihara Nozomu are both Slow Damage characters, and those are their canonical names. Megumu is not named until relatively late in the game -- most players will probably be 50-ish hours into the game before his full name is revealed -- so it may be easier to find information about him as just "Kirihara's brother".

It's not clear to us from plot summary that the Shimmer is itself sentient/a character in the way the Lena or Kane doubles are. Does it talk, plan, have feelings? Do other characters talk to or about it like it's sentient?

The characters do discuss the Shimmer in the context of what it does to them and to the landscape (e.g., from the film script: "If the Shimmer is refracting us physically, couldn't it refract us psychologically as well? Our perception? Our minds?"), but this is open to interpretation rather than a clear-cut indication that they think it is sentient. If that's the main criterion, I'm fine with all three noms being rejected.

Sorry about my confusing nominations.

Nimona (Comic): for science glowing, there's this page. I'm curious things like: what is Dr. Blitzmeyer's field of research? Was she trying to make something glow or did she stumble upon it? Why is the glowing a new technology? How does the glowing technology work?

Regarding the plans, in chapter 2, Nimona refers to them as "evil plans" and makes "improvements" to Ballister's sketched out plans.

And for Mad Science Contraptions, I don't have a better word for what they're called in universe. Maybe just science? Or technology? There's Dr. Blitzmeyer's device as well as the ones the institute made.

For WB: Effect on People of Stars Coming Back (She-Ra) in the 4th season we find out that Etheria has been hidden in a pocket universe for centuries. It gets pulled back out to the rest of the universe and people see stars for the first time. I'm curious what that's like, world-wide. Are people scared? Excited? Confused? What kinds of theories are there for the strangeness that suddenly appeared?

In the main books, the barmaid Chingford married isn't named, but apparently in the second epilogue she's called Barbara "Babs", Lady Chingford (not sure how you combine those two names.

Nominated things (this is Wallwalker on a phone)

For Final Fantasy 8 - WB: Origin of Sorceresses (FFVIII) would work fine!

Also, I misspelled a character in two Final Fantasy XIV tags. It’s Artoirel, not Artoriel. I assume that is why they were rejected?

Not the nominator, but the Nomai are an alien race from the Outer Wilds video game that the protagonist is researching.

The Will Darling Adventures - K. J. Charles: Will Darling/Kim Secretan & Kim's Sister-In-Law (The Will Darling Adventures) — We think Kim's sister-in-law might have a name. Can anyone recall what it is, if indeed it exists?
The Will Darling Adventures - K. J. Charles: Will Darling/Kim Secretan & Kim's Sister-In-Law & Kim's Nephews (The Will Darling Adventures) — We think Kim's sister-in-law might have a name. Can anyone recall what it is, if indeed it exists?

Her name doesn't seem to be given in the main books, but in a side story she says "Call me Babs" so her name is probably Barbara Secretan.

However, there might be people into the fandom who wouldn't know who that is. I think Kim's Sister-in-law is probably easier, despite her having a name in bonus material.

Just a heads up, Like Real People Do Dualogy - E. L. Massey is meant to refer to Like Real People Do and it's direct sequel, Like You've Nothing Left to Prove. It is not meant to include the entire Breakaway Series (with different characters) that continues after that.

Subnautica

Hi! I nominated Subnautica, and I think 'WB: Precursor Race culture/lifestyle' would work better. Thanks!

It's not in the clarifications, but I saw that my nomination "Chosen Hero & previous Chosen Hero who failed in his task (M & M) (OW)" was rejected. Why is that? I see lots of gender specifications in the accepted OW tagset.

So as we talked about on Discord, one of my nominations (Valkyrie Profile Series) is a series with multiple games, but at least three of them are very hard to currently play. Can we rename it to just one game in the series? In this case, Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth?

Hi! I nominated the tag Original Work: Normal Kid & Hero & Villain & Vigilante Counterparts from Other Timelines Asking for Help (OW). My understanding of the tag was that the hero, villain, and vigilantes were all counterparts of the normal kid, in a multiverse situation. Would Normal Kid & Their Hero & Villain & Vigilante Counterparts From Other Timelines Asking For Help (OW), which by my count is exactly 100 characters, work better?

hello! i'm the one who nominated "WB: Ghost Mechanics (Danny Phantom)" - this was intended to refer to the mechanics of how ghosts and ectoplasmic entities work on the whole, and not just be about ghosts who also understand how to do mechanical repairs. i couldn't think of a better way to phrase it at the time, so sorry for the confusion!

I'm a little late, but My noms: https://archiveofourown.org/tag_sets/20083/nominations/342103

Vibes: I was thinking the former!

Rose Red: I was thinking about something that explains the limitations and collective rules of their powers, since we only get hints of that in the miniseries, if that makes sense?
