Reveals! And An Emergency Pinch Hit

Reveals!

Works have revealed! Creator reveals will be on December 16th at 11:59pm EST. Reading lists will be posted from December 4th to December 15th, with a schedule going up either tomorrow or on the 4th! (Later edit: Reading lists will be starting on the 5th!)

You can still post late treats! The collection will be moderated until Creator Reveals, and then left open and unmoderated after that, so there's no deadline on treating! If you're looking for people to treat, head to the following two places:

• The pinch hitter requests post!
• The requests app!

We've had a few users report issues with viewing images hosted on imgbb.com, so if you've hosted any images there you may want to reupload them! If you can see them on your own work, click through to see if you have a cached version. If you received a gift you cannot view let us know and we will email your creator!

Reveals bug, if your work isn't showing up please read this!

Unfortunately, once again we've been hit by the reveals bug. What this means is that some works which were accepted into the collection and should currently be revealed based on their status and collection setting are still unrevealed. This most commonly affects works which were approved close to reveals. If your work is unrevealed and you have not already been contacted by the mods, this is definitely you!

Even more unfortunately, this isn't a thing that we can fix as mods. Sometimes we can unapprove and reapprove something to "shake it loose", but so far this year that hasn't worked, which means it's up to you!

If you're affected by this, you have two options for fixing it:

Reposting

• If you delete and repost the work, it should go into the collection normally. Remember to get everything you might need from the work before you delete!
• You can post directly to the collection by using the "Post to Collection" button here: https://archiveofourown.org/collections/Fic_In_A_Box_2023/profile and adding your recipient on the "Gift this work to" line.
• If it has reposted correctly, the work will immediately reveal but be anonymous. It won't show that's it's in the FIAB collection until we accept it, which we will try to do asap!

Collection shuffling

• You can switch the work into another anonymous collection and then add it back to the FIAB collection.
• When editing the work go to the "Post to Collections / Challenges". Hit the x besides "Fic_In_A_Box_2023" and add "Anonymous (anonymous)".
• Hit "Post"
• Go back in to edit again, and perform the above step in opposite order to add it back to "Fic_In_A_Box_2023". You can remove it from the Anonymous collection simultaneously or later if you'd like to.
• Hit "Post"
• If it has been shuffled correctly, the work will be revealed and anonymous. It won't show that it's in the FIAB collection until we accept it, which we will try to do asap!
