Nominations are open! Nominations will be open until Tuesday August 18th at 11:59 pm EDT. (This was incorrect before, sorry! The schedule on the first post is the correct one)

Please read the instructions below, and check the end for a couple initial clarifications!

 

Fandoms:

• All fandoms are allowed, including RPF, as long as all real people nominated are famous in their own right and over the age of 18.
• Crossovers: Should be nominated under Crossover Fandom.
• Original Works: Should be nominated under Original Works
• Megafandoms, franchises, etc: See below.
• As a general rule, if your fandom already has subfandoms nominated, please contact us before nominating a AMT type fandom.

Relationships:

• "/", "&", and "Solo:" relationship types are allowed.
  • "/" relationships are sexual and/or romantic.
  • "&" relationships are platonic.
  • "Solo:" relationships are for single characters.
• Please disambiguate your nominations. Your nominations should look like one of the following:
  
  • Character A/Character B (Fandom)
  • Character A & Character B (Fandom)
  • Solo: Character A (Fandom)
  • Solo: Ambiguous Group (Fandom)
  • Solo: Worldbuilding (Fandom)
  • Character A (Fandom A) / Character B (Fandom B)
  • Character A (Fandom A) & Character B (Fandom B)
  • Character A (Fandom A) in Fandom B
• For crossovers, please disambiguate on the characters and nominate them within Crossover Fandom. For example: "Varric Tethras (Dragon Age)/Nick Valentine (Fallout 4)"
• Crossovers where a character from fandom A visit canon B should be nominated like this: "Solo: Shang Qinghua (SVSSS) in Lord of the Rings" If there's more than one version of the canon and you care about which version you receive, specify that version in parentheses, for example "Solo: Shang Qinghua (SVSSS) in Lord of the Rings (Movies)."
• Ships in Original Works should be nominated as Character Type/Character Type, with any additional details you see as essential for the ship included. If the gender of the characters is important to you, please include it in the character tags.
• If you request an ambiguous group (eg: The [fandom] ensemble) we will assume that any member(s) of that group fulfill that request.
• You may request "Any" of a character type. For example, "Mikhaila Ilyushin/Any Female Talos I Employee". Similar to original works, please make sure any important information is within the Any character tag.

Opt-ins

• This is for medium or length
• You can specify any medium you want, but it must be clear to your creator and easily enforceable for the mods.
• We will only be accepting mediums after they have an equivalent to 1k fanfiction. If you're confident with us making that call or if your medium is just a more specific version of a medium which is already on the list, you can nominate and wait (we'll post on the clarifications post if we need your input). Otherwise, please post on the Mediums post (link).
• Length can be any length under 1k words and above 69 words.
• Please nominate these using "Medium Opt-In:" or "Length Opt-In:" like the following examples:
  • Medium Opt-In: Macaroni art
  • Length Opt-In: 666 minimum

Nomination info for specific fandoms:

• As a general rule, if there are already specific subfandoms accepted for your fandom, please
• Marvel Cinematic Universe nominations may be nominated under the appropriate movie subfranchise (Thor, GotG, etc) or in Avengers. If nominating in a subfranchise (for example, Thor (Movies)), all characters in the nom should have appeared in a movie from that subfranchise. Agents of SHIELD, Agent Carter, and the Marvel Netflix universe of shows are also all separate fandoms. The Marvel Netflix shows should be nommed together under The Defenders (Marvel TV).
• Marvel comics may be nominated by title or under the name of the appropriate Marvel universe (Marvel 616, Marvel Ultimates, etc). Nominations for “Marvel (Comics)” will not be accepted.
• Star Wars nominations may be nominated under the appropriate movie, trilogy, TV show, etc (eg, Rogue One, Sequel Trilogy). “Crossover” noms between different parts of the Star Wars universe may be nominated under “Star Wars - All Media Types.”
• Star Wars Old EU: Books should go under "Star Wars: Legends Books" and be disambiguated with (SWL Books). Comics should go under "Star Wars: Legends Comics" and be disambiguated with (SWL Comics). Games should go into their individual games either combined or split depending on what is normal for that fandom.
• Naruto, Boruto, and Dreaming of Sunshine should be nominated separately. Please nominate Dreaming of Sunshine as "Dreaming of Sunshine - Silver Queen (disambiguated for exchanges)". Relationship nominations that involve one or more DoS character and one or more Naruto/Boruto character should be nominated under the fandom "Crossover Fandom".
• Buffy: The Vampire Slayer and Angel: The Series will both be nommed together under “Buffyverse (TV).”
• Buffy comics: Nominate this separately from the TV shows.
• Star Trek is divided by show and the Alternate Original Series is alone. Movie characters from the Original Series or Next Gen movies may be nominated under the respective shows.
• DC Comics: All DC Comics nominations can go under that fandom, but please disambiguate which version of the character you want in parenthesis after each character.
• DC's Arrowverse: Please nominate characters from Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, Batwoman, and Black Lightning (plus the webseries tie-ins) under "DC's Arrowverse".
• Dragon Age: Please nominate under "Dragon Age (Video Games)"
• Final Fantasy VII: The original game and the remake should be nominated separately.
• Stargate: Please nominate under "Stargate - All Media Types"
• DC Extended Universe: DCEU movies should be nominated under "DC Extended Universe"
• Assassin's Creed: Please nominate Assassin's Creed under "Assassin's Creed - All Media Types"
• X-men Movies: Please nominate these under "X-men (Movieverse)"
• Legend of Zelda: These should be nominated in their separate games, but please make sure that the disambiguation is unique to that game!
• The Witcher: Please nominate these in their individual fandoms, not AMT
• The Mechanisms: Please nominate under "The Mechanisms (Band)" with a disambiguation of either (The Mechanisms) or the specific album.
• Historical RPF: Please split these into subfandoms that indicates what timeperiod the nominated people are in. If there may be confusion about the identity of a nominated person, please be as specific as is reasonable.

Assassin's Creed

How do other people want this split?

My instinct was to keep it as AMT so that people only need to use one request slot for it, but I'm also fine with managing the split if anyone would like to split it. If we split it, it'll be into individual games except for the Ezio Trilogy.

X-Men Movies

Hello, I nominated the X-Men movies as one fandom.

The original trilogy can stand on its own. The issue is Days of Future Past has the future parts set in the future of the original timeline and the past parts set in the alternate timeline trilogy. I went ahead and disambiguated by timeline if you decide to split them.

I'll add that to the list above. MCU is actually getting split into subfranchises, but checking with a couple people it sounds like DC Extended Universe works best for you guys :)

Yeah, MCU is a lot bigger and more spread out while the DCEU is still relatively small and with the overlap it just makes things easier lol :D (also I totally misread the MCU part my bad!)

Godzilla

I might be like the only one for this fandom, so this question might be a bit moot, but how to nominate things Godzilla?

Just put "all media types" and then specify in the requests? Or split into: Toho, Monsterverse, Emmerich(1994). (I want naught to do with the latter, which is the main reason for my question, to be honest. :P )

Buffyverse

Hey there! For Buffyverse TV ships and shows, should ships be disambiguated with respective shows (ex. Willow Rosenberg/Buffy Summers (BtVS)) or all disambiguated with "Buffyverse TV", to facilitate nomming crossovers between the 2 shows?

I'd like to nominate a post-series comics-only character under Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Comics 1998). Would that be accepted, or should I nom her under Buffyverse TV and disambiguate with "BtVS Comics"?

Hope this all makes sense, sorry! Am still pretty new at noms and want to do it right :)

Hi! We would definitely advise against using the "- All Media Types" or "& Related Fandoms" versions of fandom tags unless you would be happy with getting any media type/any related fandom and generally exchange fandoms are split up by continuity, so it sounds like you should split Godzilla up! If it usually isn't split up or if you're unsure, you could let this question sit for a few days to see if anyone else has strong feelings on the matter.

I'm more a private fan and not active in the fandom as such yet, so I wouldn't know how it's usually split. I'll just collect ideas and see how to organise them then. Continuity would also allow for splitting into the eras… So many decisions!

Just checking to make sure, but "[character] & Any [character type]" is an acceptable nomination, correct? i.e., if I nominate "Tamlin Jorun & Any Mynock Crew Member" under Campaign Podcast, that's still okay, right?

Hi mods! Two questions:

1) I see Dreaming of Sunshine and Boruto listed, so are other fic-of-fic allowed? We are looking at nomming "Rigel Black Series - murkybluematter (fanfic)" and "Revolutionary Arc (fic) - kitsunerei88 (fanfic)", is that okay? Both are HP fanfictions.

2) I see that meta is allowed, so can we nominate, e.g. Worldbuilding? I'm mostly so thinking because if I were to write a meta essay on anything, it would be something legal (e.g. "What the trial in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix Tells Us About Wizarding Law") rather than anything focused on a specific character.

1) "Rigel Black Series - murkybluematter (fanfic)" is fine to nominate! Let me know if you've got a similar situation to DOS where some of the versions of the series tag are synned to the main fandom, so that we can make sure a "safe" fandom tag that doesn't merge into HP is used.

1.5)We're still discussing Revolutionary Arc and how we want to handle recursive of recursive. I'll get back to you ASAP on that but wanted to answer the other two now instead of making you wait on all three <3


2) You can nominate worldbuilding as "Solo: Worldbuilding (Disambig)" with the Disambig being whatever is being used for that fandom :) You can also nominate it as a Medium Opt-In with "Medium Opt-In: Worldbuilding"

Possibly a weird question, but one of my fandoms has two characters who canonically have the same name and share the same tag on AO3 (Minashiro Soushi). It's basically a weird reincarnation deal, but the two different versions of him have very different personalities and relationships (and in a similar situation in the same canon, the 'reincarnated' character explicitly considers herself the daughter of the original version).

The second version has a fandom nickname ('Ko!Soushi') but it's not used in canon. If I wanted to nominate both versions, would my best bet be to just use the nickname to differentiate, or would you prefer I use something like 'original!Minashiro Soushi' and 'reborn!Minashiro Soushi'?

Can I nominate people? Like for a book I would like to nominate fantasy people, not any specific person, but the people as a whole. I guess I would enjoy just some worldbuilding around them. Would they still go under Solo?

You can nominate ambiguous groups (still use "Solo: Group (disambig)" if only nominating the group, to avoid accidentally messing up the character tag), but you won't be guaranteed to get more than one member of the group and you won't be guaranteed worldbuilding.

You might have better luck nominating "Solo: Worldbuilding (fandom)" in your fandom and requesting that, and then prompting for worldbuilding around that group. That way you'll match with someone who wants to write worldbuilding if you match on that tag.

Those I won't be able to do anything about. We can control the fandoms, but AO3 does all the categories. There are some things that will end up in multiple categories that it really makes no sense for them to be there, but as long as the Fandom name is correct we just have to ignore it.

Is it okay if I stick Star Wars books that are not Legends, eg Star Wars: Bloodlines, under Star Wars All Media Types? Especially since my requests will cross over with Sequels-appearing characters.

To be consistent the non-Legends book ones should go into their book canons. Would nominating it as "[your book pairing] in SWST" work? That way you wouldn't be opting into any extra characters, but it would be clear your requests will involve the Sequels and not just the books.

Hi, thanks for the response. I'm a little confused though by what you mean with "[your pairing] in SWST". I guess my own explanation re crossover was a little confusing, and I just realised I also mixed some stuff up myself.
Re the crossover it's basically: Character A (SW Book) /& Character B (SWST). So one half is book only, and one half appears in the movies.

I'll nominate the books as separate canons.

Right now everything that isn't disambiguated with a fandom tag is being rejected (as we've been warning would happen today). Other tags should only be rejected if they're duplicates or if they're something we said in a post we would reject.

If you think we rejected anything in error and can't renominate it, you can give a correctly formatted and comma separated list of what you need to me, with the fandom exactly as it appears in the tagset. If you had something undisambiguated and don't have the space to renominate it, you can do that too.
