Rec: How about the rescue from Sakhalin but with ghosts and supernatural?
This is an easy rec because not only was this one of my favourite reads from the FIAB'22 exchange, it's also a really creative take on canon, adding supernatural elements to make the Sakhalin prison even more hellish. Basically, I think it can be enjoyed as a story even if you don't know canon and these characters. But if you do know them it's just fantastically in-character and emotionally resonant.
I have all the Orpheus and Erudice vibes from this story as Biggles goes to "hell" to retrieve von Stalhein.
