For Magic Kaitou, Pandora is a precious stone that is rumored to give immortality (somehow) in universe. It is the McGuffin that the main character and some of the antagonists are looking for. But there isn't really much more known about it, so it is a fertile ground for all sorts of worldbuilding around how it functions or how it came to be, and the like.
